Pass Defense was elite potential!

The nose tackle Jay Toia is a load, Dallas may have found a good one technique in the 7th round that can collapse the pocket and stop the run.
I believe it when I see it. proof is in the pudding. there is a reason he was a 7th rounder and to put our hopes on a 7th round pick.....seems just wishful thinking. he is now what, the 4th 1-technique we are throwing at the problem. mazi, rodgers, Toia, akingbesote,

Well, imo they've got plenty of passrushers and not enough runstoppers.
So the Eberflus run stop scheme will be on full display but without the supporting talent he needs at both the 1st and 2nd levels to be anything better than a poor front 7 run stop group.
AGAIN.
Problem is, Quinn's scheme sold out to get to the QB and opened up huge rushing lanes. We need a mixture of Quinn's pressure and Zimmer's discipline to make it work.
If the pass rush is really good, then they could cheat some back 7 players up for better run defense.

Their formula worked last yr cause they went on long, time consuming drives like Dak in his rookie season. His legs played a hug part in extending drives, take that away and force him to read coverages.
They also benefited from their schedule. They played perfect mistake free football.

Yeah, I know. I really like Toia. Just how strong and smart he plays.
After watching film on these players from the draft , a couple of things come to the surface.First this was a great overall draft with great talent through out the draft even the 6th to 7th round players look really good. The next thing is that these players seem to be hard nosed football players and with high character.Dallas is a better football team after this draft.
