Id be happy with either of them

Dont over think these guys at 28. They're all gonna have warts. If you over scrutinize, you'll wind up not liking anyone
I also like them both. I like peppers as a top 15 talent. I like Jackson as a top 50, he has first round athleticism but second round tape to me. Going to be really good in this league for a little while but athleticism fades and the guys that rely on it fade with it.

We have gotten to see our board eventually the last few years. If I had to guess, Jackson would be the last person listed with a first round grade when we see this years.

You have no idea what his responsibilities are, and yeah he played "wanna be LB" because his coaches asked him to. The guy was one of the best prospects in the nation coming out of high school and still is. Surprised you can't see his potential considering how on adorees jock you are.
I've seen Adoree extensively at cb. Ive barely seen Peppers at safety. Bad safety play will kill a defense faster than cb play imo

Like I said, the guy is a pure football player, put him at a position, coach him and he will find a way to be good if not great at it. He knows football, he knows defense, he will be fine and within one season I believe great at safety. Arm chair scouts were 'passing' on Ramsey last year for similar though different reasons. NFL personnel men saw him for what he is and can be, the same will happen with peppers. I'd love it if he gets to our pick but I don't see it happening.

I think Ramsey is a much better prospect than Peppers but it's all good. We'll agree to disagree

Do we though? I had Ramsey top 5(easy to say now I know but search history will tell you I was on board with EE but preferred Ramsey) I have peppers top 15 and taken as a Saftey. Where do you have him as a prospect and at what position? You don't think he can transition to the NFL game at all? You think he's a bust waiting to happen? Not putting words in your mouth just asking.

The "tweener" label gets shed the second he gets drafted by an NFL team. He has the body of a safety. He wants to play safety and that's where he'd best be utilized.

Define his role; let him get comfortable and focus on the responsibilities of that one position which is likely SS in my opinion.

In Dallas, I could easily see him taking over Church's role in the defense, switching down to hybrid nickel LB in certain packages, etc.

My opinion on hasn't changed; I'm not advocating we take him, but if we do at 28 it's not like I don't see the value in it. I've got zero issues with letting Church walk, letting Heath step-in and having a guy like Peppers learn. In the meantime you still get immediate value from him as a returner which is a department Lucky Whitehead gave us nothing in.

Ramsey was the better prospect as a pure cover man coming out; there's no question. I think the point is more than a few folks here were chirping last year about Ramsey's apparent lack of coverage stats coming out of FSU when they didn't understand the role he played in the defense.

The same goes with Peppers. You don't register 14 TFL and 3 sacks playing in a "traditional" safety or cornerback role in coverage. Michigan had him playing as a glorified LB near the line, so folks being critical of him not tallying 4-5 INTs or 10-13 PBUs is misguided in relation to what he was asked to do.

*His own defensive coordinator said Peppers would play LB "70 percent of the time" heading into last season. http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2016/03/michigans_jabrill_peppers_spen.html

Thank you, I'm in a bar in Vegas and you articulated my point better than I could've.

More like pass on the Peppers. Guy doesn't have a position and our defense isn't creative enough to take advantage of a talented tweener type.
You realize Jones was in the same boat a couple of years ago? I think the team would do fine IF that is the direction they go. Which I don't but...

All I know is I was a huge fan of Ramsey. Peppers not so much. If we draft him I hope I'm wrong about him.

Yes, you can tell that he is a player that you would like to have on your team. He's a good one.
We dont agree on some things, but on this one we are 100 percent in agreement my friend. Peppers is one of those guys i dont want to pass on and then he destroys us when we go up against him. Which i can 100 percent see happening

lol. The combine!! Its the same every year. Who can say what will become of any of these young boys...they look like can't miss HoF at the combine. The NFL is a different situation. Won't remember most of their names in 2 yrs.
