Pat McAfee show on George Pickens

I am not buying Pickens will not be a Cowboy long term. Unless he pulls a no-show during this upcoming season and make things complicated. I expect the front office to get the numbers right and keep him in Dallas.

Reports was saying that Dak & Pickens were putting in work during the offseason, was those reports false as well??

Funny to see all the big time Pickens fans turning on him because the King and Prince told them too.
I wish they’d just sign him to a long term deal. But he’s not a must have.

These are the most import positions.

QB
Pass rusher
#1WR
LT
#1CB

We already have a #1 Wr.

No premier pass rusher, no premier LT, no #1 CB.

If you can reallocate assets from Oickens to one of these needs, it would make sense. Not that I expect this front office to maneuver this successfully. Which is why I’d rather just keep Pickens.

Pickens is open when he is not open, he is that kind of talent, wish they find a way to keep him at least for the next two seasons.

As far as I know the cowboys were in talks with both and could have solidified either if they wanted to. The Ravens didn't really engage Henderson un til after things fell throgh with Crosby.
Wow that would've been interesting

Which Ravens team are we talking about here, the one that looked like a Super Bowl contender, then took a major dive after McDonald left, with Harbaugh now gone and a loss of talent instead of gains? Are we comparing them to the Cowboys right now? Or are we talking about the Ravens from five years ago, when everyone was excited about getting Derrick Henry, even though he wanted to be a Cowboy? The year before Henry arrived, they went to the AFC Championship Game, but after he joined, they performed worse each following season. McDonald and other key players and coaches have moved on, and now you’ve got the regular-season MVP who can’t seem to deliver in the playoffs.

Both teams feel pretty similar if you look at their last few years.

More importantly, I don’t think Crosby or Hendrickson would have been happy with the Cowboys. They didn’t have much of a choice. From what I see, Hendrickson did not have Many teams knocking down his door for his service, he was on the market for a long tim, while Crosby was rejected, and now he says he’s bringing him back with the Raiders.

For most of these players, it’s all about the money. The teams trying to lure them are focused on compensation, not necessarily the team they might end up with. I’m pretty sure both of these players would have been happy with the Cowboys.

The only free agent who chose the Raiders over the Cowboys that we lost did so for reasons unrelated to competitio,it was all about Dean wanting to face the Eagles twice a year without being in the NFC East. That’s understandable. The offers were there, but he rejected the Cowboys’ offer not because he thought the Raiders were Better, are you serious?

Trust me, if the Cowboys wanted Hendrickson, they would have gone after him. They didn’t, they weren’t interested. I don’t think he was a fit for this defense, and as much as they wanted Crosby, they would have passed on him like the ravens did, back with the Raiders because of his injury issues.

So, I don’t see the point in this argument. He would have done just fine anywhere he landed, and that’s a fact. They might have just been happy if the Cowboys were the ones who came out ahead in those transactions.

Cowboys are not losing out on talent because it's the Cowboys, Somehow, they don't want to come here, that's not the mayor you try to create...
If you're about making money it's Cowboys all the way

We've seen teams play this "trade a player and draft his replacement!" game a couple times, and the team doing it has rarely ended up happy. Tennessee swapped AJ Brown for Treylon Burks. San Francisco swapped DeForest Buckner for Javon Kinlaw.

If you think Pickens is a core part of this team for the next three seasons, then pay him. It's the cheapest option in the long run.

My assessment is that he would not be an adequate replacement for Pickens.

He’s a #3 type WR. There is no shame in calling him that.
I agree he's not on Picken's level. But... he's explosive and I'm definitely happy to have him as WR3. I'm low key excited to see what all 3 will look like in the field together now that we know what we have. Go Cowboys!
