I like the comparison. Mahomes is definitely better, but what would Mahomes look like with Garrett as HC and OC calling plays?

What would Romo have been like in KC with an offensive genius for a HC and kelcy and Hill to throw to?

Figures Bayless would make that comparison. Romo was a gunslinger that’s the only comparison. Mahomes is way above Romo in every regard. It took Mahomes only two years to accomplish more than Romo ever did.

I think some of the comparison is both QBs had the ability to make a play out of nothing at times. To me that is athleticism all day. Romo was clutch a lot more than not. You sure won't be hearing Mahomes compared to Dak any time soon. Unless of course they're talking about their shoe closets.

He does sometimes...but usually not until down in the second half. I see that aspect among romo fans/critics. Some like this new slower pace and less TOs, others liked that we were always a threat but also prone to more TOs. I'm the latter, I will take a QB willing to take the chance but also have to sit down when he does throw that ill timed pick.

Anyways, I don’t really see it. Mahomes defining characteristic is his amazing physical ability... which makes him difficult to compare to anyone really.

Romo never had the arm. But go look up some stats before you run your mouth. Go look up Romo's TD/INT ratio and see how that compares historically. Also go look at his 4th Quarter ratings. Oh, and of course, Tony's plays outside the pocket doesn't translate into athleticism either. Now with all that being said, Mahomes is far better than Romo was and his ceiling will be much higher but your analysis is so one sided that your "natural tendencies" cloud your ability to think logically.

I was an advocate for bringing in Andy Reid after he left Philly...who knows what he and Romo would have done together.

I’m a huge fan of Andy Reid and hope he gets his Lombardi this year.
