There are elite quarterbacks who have never won the big game and mediocre bus drivers who have. Why it's a team game.

Most superbowl bound teams usually have stout defenses. Romo got to play with some medicore to atrocious defenses bar 2009 as a fluke. Dont get me wrong thinking Romo is not to blame however we had bigger issues. Plus throw in coaching....we see how that has worked out aye
Show me a elite quarterback who has only 1 playoff win?

I like the comparison. Mahomes is definitely better, but what would Mahomes look like with Garrett as HC and OC calling plays?

What would Romo have been like in KC with an offensive genius for a HC and kelcy and Hill to throw to?
exactly, plus people think of older romo when they think of romo, go back and watch romo in 2007 games , completely different.
Lets see what mahomes looks like 10 years from now.

Nobody anywhere said Romo was Mahomes
Nobody
Then you guys get your panties in a wad and say Romo isn’t Mahomes—and proceed to diss Romo at every turn.
For no reason because nobody claimed he was Mahomes in the 1st place

All they said was that there was a part of his game that had some similarities.
Mahomes thought it was a complement

but you guys go nuts about Romo not being worth a crap in any way.

pathetic and totally misguided
There ain’t nothing similar about Mahomes and Romo. The only reason this is even talked about is because Skip Baylis is trolling as usual lol. And you’re getting offended for no reason. No one said Romo sucks. Saying Romo ain’t no Mahomes doesn’t mean Romo sucks lol. It just means he ain’t no damn Mahomes. So what’s the problem? Romo was his own quarterback. Mahomes was his. Damn you can’t say nothing about Romo without y’all getting offended. Who cares if he isn’t Mahomes? He was a top 10 quarterback when he was playing. No shame in that.

A shame, but just setting the record straight.
Surprised so e fans here don't even know that simple fact about their own team
Do they let you in the Hall for winning two playoff games.

Since 1980, only one Cowboys QB has lead the league in passer rating. Tony Romo. Guy wasn't the best of the best and made some critical mistakes but some people act like he was crap. He was pretty good. Guys like Fouts and Marino never won anything and they don't get nearly as beaten up over it.

Side note: Staubach lead the league 4 times and came in second once in the 70's. Dam that guy was a stud. He is to the point where he is underrated both by Cowboy fans and nationally. He really is one of the best QB's ever.

Smh ok. I guess that answers that.
Well ,its the truth.
Ive never said Romo was a HOF QB, nor have I ever said he's better than Mahomes.

This whole thread started because somebody saw a small part of Romo’s game in Mahomes.
Im assuming the improvisional side of the game and general lack of fear.
If you watch Romo earlier in his career, he was a flat out Houdini in that regard
Were not talking about any other aspect, just that.
Mahomes considered that a compliment
Nothing about Romo being better in any area
Nothing

Yet you guys take it entirely differently and go nuts

The only people arguing this other stuff is you gius.
Its irrelevant to the OP

100 percent correct. And let me add that early in his career, Romo was an inexperienced gunslinger more willing to take chances. As he improved as a quarterback, the talent around him slowly eroded. Romo was the only reason the Cowboys of 2011-13 were 8-8 and not 3-13.

Romo took 3-13 teams and elevated them to 8-8, Dak took 13-3 teams and brought them down to 8-8....thank god for the Giants, Skins and Dolphins

You need to go back and read this thread. You are seeing my replies and aren’t seeing the posts I’m replying to.

Dak has the same coaches and players Romo had so that means he too is taking a 3 win team to 8-13 wins. In 2016 that was a 4 win team when Romo went down.

Your confusing a team carrying its QB with a QB being able to carry the team. Dak had a great rookie season but that 2016 team goes to the SB if they give the team back to Romo when he was healthy enough to play. There is not an argument in this world you can make that would convince anybody alive that Dak as a rookie was a better QB than Romo. Now some will say Romo would have gotten injured again if he played, well maybe and maybe not, but nobody knows because he was never given the chance, but what i do know is that if you are trying to win and win a SB you play your best players when they are healthy enough to play. Period, and in 2016 the Cowboys did not do that
