IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) – An “agreement’’ isn’t quite the same thing as a “deal’’ and so free-agent cornerback Patrick Robinson – new agent in tow – is following up his visit with the Cowboys with a visit to the Colts.

The Valley Ranch view is that Robinson, the former first-round pick who started 10 games with the Chargers last season, had forged a three-year agreement to join Dallas as a free agent. But at some point before ink was put to paper, Robinson changed agents … which apparently changed the tone of the negotiations.

Dallas’ search for help in the defensive backfield has included a visit from Leon Hall, who was with the Bengals last year and who remains unsigned.

Sounds to me that his new agent is just doing his due diligence to explore all avenues before committing to a deal. Makes sense. If Indy wants him, they'll counter-offer and the Cowboys will have a chance to respond.

Sounds like our offer was good but not great. His new agent is looking for better opportunities I guess. We stand a reasonable chance of getting him signed. He is not worth a bidding war in my opinion though.

Hrumph. I guess Robinson did not "feel the love".

What's Carr making this year?

Offer Robinson 60% of that if they want him that bad and if they do plan to release Carr.

So wait........... he shows up to Dallas with one agent and then within 48 hours he leaves Dallas with another agent?

LOL.

I thought he had to wait 3 days between firing an agent and hiring another. That doesn't smell right.

Perhaps he came in without an agent and then hired one.

Cant blame him for shopping more.

However I heard he was offered a 3 year deal by us. Not likely to see that at this stage elsewhere so I still think he has a good chance of being back here

If that's true, that's probably what happened.

Yeah with SJ, JJ, RED all gone I am sure the CBs here laid out the red carpet. Dinner was probably at chicken express and dessert was at 7-eleven.

Feeling the love can mean money, a starting job, lots of things--including the idea the team really really wants you. Hear about it quite a bit from players.

It's actually 5 days...

Yep just having some fun. I agree if he wanted to be here he wouldn't have left. I mean who turns down chicken express?

If this turns into a bidding war just give me hall and let's move on

Yes, bollocks to bidding! Sir Jerry needs to learn about austerity when it comes to players who are in the middle tier. Save your money for that Goff lad.
Let Rowdy take Robinson to Six Flags, then to Neiman Marcus then to an art show in Deep Ellum and then see Robinson's eyes go wide. Or not.
