The other day I was with family at Dinner and someone brought up the Cowboys and me being tired
and not thinking said we were about to sign Patrick Peterson and a couple of folks said "now thats
what I'm talking about....get er done. Later I mentioned that I stated the wrong name it was
Patrick Robinson and it seemed the air blew out of the balloon. Later I thought to myself is there
really that big a difference in the two Patricks...

Patrick Robinson and Patrick Peterson, yes a very big difference, one is available and one will never be available.

A better negotiator would have told him that the offer expires once he leaves the building.

I'm pretty sure Jerry knows what he's doing. Not like he's been doing this for almost 30 years.

So wait........... he shows up to Dallas with one agent and then within 48 hours he leaves Dallas with another agent?

LOL.

lol....that is funny.....

I wonder how that convo went down between him and his old agent....

The line for the "Jerry doesn't know what he's doing" ride stretches around the block. I guess it's tempting to wait in line for the other one.

Broddius already covered this. Said they are basically same. Both lack burst and don't really run well with receivers but can be effective if they keep things in front of them. Said neither will generate much turnovers.

But Robinson won't receive Carr money? Carr has no picks in 2 seasons.

Here are your options:

1) Keep Carr contract at $13 million for 1 more year and get no turnovers. Total cost $13 mill.

2) Sign Robinson for lets say $2 million for 1 year and cut Carr ($8 mill dead money hit) and still get no turnovers. Total cost $10 mill.

3) Sign Robinson for $2 mill and get Carr to redo contract for 2 years at $4 mill year. Still no turnovers. Total cost $6 mill.

I think we both know the best choice.

No, not really...that tactic does not work. Unless your the mob.

It works in the NFL - IF you have the best offer on the table by a good margin. If you don't, the Agent is going to say "There are only a few starting caliber CBs on the market, when you strike out on those and want to talk to Alan Ball, I represent Alan too".

Why does Carr have to be in the equation at all? We have 30 mil in cap room. What are the savings cutting him outright? Use those savings on Robinson or draft a CB in rd 2-4.;) I only support Robinson so the team doesn't go DB @ 4; seems to be the way the team drafts. Carr can be replaced by just about anyone tbh and get the same results.

Would use some of that 30 in space to absorb Carr cap hit, lock up Fredrick long term this season and have a plan ready to resign Martin and Collins down the line. This FA session has been weak, and the team's unwillingness to pay Miller led me to believe they were thinking trade back for Zeke. Now Morris is signed, and this is pointing towards a QB/Ramsey @ 4. Love Ramsey, but not over Goff long term assuming CLE goes QB @ 2. The QB would hopefully sit w/Romo having the great season we all want. I'm ready for a plan B if Romo is out long term considering his age and recent injury history (back/ribs/clavicle). 5 years is unrealistic and we should acknowledge that even if JJ doesn't want to.
