Just add a decent CB to our mix before the draft. Not too worried if it's Robinson, though I'd like him.
That plus Scandrick returning
Plus our 1st rounder from last year developing
Plus at least one rookie
Should mean a fairly decent upgrade to what we ran with in the secondary last year.

I doubt Nelson is in play. We have Jones playing FS. We all know Nelson is a massive upgrade of Church and Wilcox. But I highly highly highly doubt they release one to sign Nelson.

no person in particular and not necessarily this thread, just a lot of gnashing of teeth over a guy who is average at best.

I'm not too concerned with it because I think we're only making this move so we can cut Carr. If we were adding him to improve our depth, I'd be happier about it, but I couldn't less if we're trading out one so-so corner for another.

Why would they need to replace either? Church and Wilcox would both be great rotation/ST player backup types. With Heath you have good pursuit toughness and tackling to add to your kick coverage. Adding Nelson doesn't push anyone off because those are the only S we have.

He pushes the McCrays off the roster in August, gives depth in case of injury, and makes for fierce competition.

I can't believe that the Bengals haven't even made an attempt. That makes me wonder if there is something else going on. He may be looking for too much money.
