Patrick Swayze Dies

He fought a good fight against pancreatic cancer.

My all time favorite role he played was actually a bit part in a TV show. In M*A*S*H he played a guy who had leukemia but was more concerned about his buddy. It was a very touching job.

The next time I saw him was when he played the oldest Curtis brother Darry in "The Outsiders." I have read that book 7 times and I love it.

Then I saw "Red Dawn" and I just sort of became a Patrick Swayze fan.

Seemed like a very decent guy. RIP.

Worst line ever, but that movie is yet another reason I liked the guy. I could get just about any girl to make out during that movie.

Starting to get rough since Actors dying now are the ones I grew up on.

I remember dirty dancing...parents dragged me to it when I was 10. I don't remember if I liked it at the time but it turned out to be a classic. I think it was a bit too grown up for me at the time.

That movie made him a star. Then I saw a trailer a year or so later of him as a bad-a with swords. OMG...I was such a 80s action fan when I was young. Any movie with sword fighters, ninjas, etc...I had to see it. I was ecstatic when I saw the vhs for rent at Albertsons. I made my mom rent it. That movie, Steel Dawn. I think that movie kinda killed his career for a while unfortunately. I think at the time I was like, "Finally he's made a good movie!" :laugh2:

I think I saw Red Dawn a bit late since I was too young to see it when it came out. But I was able to catch up on some movies when vhs rentals took off. This movie is a classic and currently being remade.

Next was Roadhouse. This was a "dirty" movie labeled by the parents. There were 2-3 topless scenes so was off limits to us. I remember watching about 25% of this movie at a friends one late night on Cinemax or something. His mom came in finally and was like NO YOU DIDNT...and cut it off :( I saw it later. Kinda a underground classic and hilariously referred to by Ron White in his comedy act.

Finally he did Ghost which was the last bit of fame he achieved besides Point Break. The 80s was his but he faded away in the mid 90s. Now he's faded away for good.

See ya Nomad, may your journey through the desert be short....

Ghost is seriously one of my favorite movies ever. That movie had everything, and the chemistry between him and Whoopi was just hilarious.

"You're dead Willie!!!" :laugh2:

RIP Patrick.

Always liked him and a lot of his movies.

Awful news.

Goodbye Patrick.

I saw this yesterday and felt unusually sad, maybe it's because his death was a "long" time coming. RIP, always seemed like a down to earth guy.

Loved the SNL skit with him and Farley where they are auditioning for Chippendales.

RIP

I loved Dirty Dancing, Road House, and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar

RIP Patrick Swayze

I used to watch The Beast occasionally too. I think A&E knew something was up when they cancelled the series.

He wasn't afraid to take a risk. Example: His performance in "To Wong Foo, thanks for the memories. Julie Newmar". It's tough to do an entire movie in drag and then go back to action roles. He was decent guy was horribly treated by the tabloids in the last few years of his life. R.I.P., Patrick.

RIP Patrick!

I enjoyed quite a few of the movies he did. My favorites were probably Dirty Dancing and The Outsiders, followed by Red Dawn.

Ghost
Road House
Next of Kin
Point Break
Uncommon Valor
Black Dog

I know.

What I'm saying, they knew it was getting worse and he wouldn't have been able to handle the rigors of the show anymore.
