If the price is low enough and the contract is 1 year, then do it. Have you forgotten Ray Donaldson? Back in 1995 after the Boys lost Stepnoski and Houck was able to coax Donaldson out of retirement. Boys won the Super Bowl that year and Donaldson went to the Pro Bowl.

You're not talkinga about some 24 year-old kid who lost a season due to an injury.
You're talking about a soon to be 36 year-old who has done anything football related in almost a year and a half now.

One season removed from a pro bowl is still light years ahead of any of the interior OL that played last year. It is laughable that YOUR opinion is more valid when Waters and the Cowboys OL have already proven YOU wrong.
Is it more important to be right, or to improve? This OL is in serious need of both talent upgrade as well as some confidence. Waters is a stopgap no doubt but his presence would not only enhance the OL's performance but provide leadership & stability to an inexperienced and inconsistent unit.
Waters is a proven commodity. Even if there is a drop off at 36 (not really old for OL), he is still closer to pro bowl level than Livings, Bernadeau or Arkin will ever be. All three guys are journeymen or LESS. Again, Waters is the better player.

Now he just another guy who hasn't put on a helmet in a long time.
burmafrd;5073629 said:one year is that long? really. But no surprise....
MichaelWinicki;5073656 said:It's been more than a year considering he hasn't put on a helmet since the Pat's finished their 2011 season.
Nor has he shown one inkling of wanting to participate in the sport again– He walked away from at least a couple million dollars. Walked away.
Just like someone else posted... Maybe the Cowboys should approach John Hannah.

Is there another GW BUsh event we can't miss?

At 36, he's just getting ripe.
