Pats Fans React to Milton Trade

He can’t throw.

It’s a problem.

Weaknesses

  • Disturbing lack of placement and timing as a deep-ball passer.
  • Completed just 38.6 percent of his throws beyond 10 yards (per Pro Football Focus) in 2023.
  • Struggles with anticipatory throws, running receivers into collisions.
  • Telegraphs throws between the hashes, giving safeties an easy jump on the ball.
  • Desires to throw the ball through receivers rather than deliver with touch.
  • Inconsistent tying his feet to eyes and squaring to his targets.
  • Frequently forces moving targets to break stride to try to make the catch.
just out of curiosity, did anyone put their name on this scouting report? I'm guessing its all anonymous

It’s super simple, the Patriots had him in the building for a year already and he’s never gonna be close to beating out Maye so even if maye ends up failing Milton is still worse so why not get a pick back for him. They are selling high and getting a positive return on an investment. They took a 6th round flyer last year just to check him out and realized what they most likely already knew and are still getting a higher pick back for him.

Dallas could have taken him last year in the draft for cheaper but didn’t. The only way this trade makes sense from an organizational perspective is if they have plans to work him in in some specific packages, something to take advantage of his skill set. But he’s not an NFL QB by any stretch and will unlikely be anything other than a big arm in future NFL camps.

AI Overview

"Locker room dynamics" refers to the interpersonal interactions, behaviors, and culture that exist within a team's or group's locker room setting, often emphasizing the importance of team cohesion, leadership, and shared experiences.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

Team Cohesion and Culture:
The locker room is a space where team members bond, build relationships, and develop a shared identity.

Leadership and Accountability:
Strong locker room dynamics often involve clear leadership, where team members hold each other accountable and push each other to excel.

Shared Experiences and Camaraderie:
The locker room is a place where team members share experiences, both on and off the field, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity.

Positive and Negative Aspects:
While locker room dynamics can be a powerful force for positive team building, they can also be a breeding ground for negativity, conflict, or even toxic behavior.

Importance in Business and Sports:
The concept of locker room dynamics extends beyond sports and can be applied to any team or group setting, highlighting the importance of a positive and productive team environment.

Examples:
In sports, a strong locker room culture can lead to better performance and team unity.

Conversely, a toxic locker room can lead to conflict, low morale, and poor performance.

Get better informed and understand how "locker room dynamics" can refer to a toxic locker room environment where one does not display leadership tendencies but instead displays negativity, conflict, or even toxic behavior. In other words, acting like a clown.

Got it?
Literally the only person who can read your chatgpt and latch on to that one inference and then blame the QB just traded to the Cowboys. Then completely alter that inference by changing the words, then fighting so hard to insist you're right, would be you.

Keep failing.

There's one AI far superior to any AI on the market. Chatgpt is one of the worst. As is Leo that comes embedded with the bravo browser

Milton is an upgrade at back up QB over Rush. I predict he has a great camp and makes Grier expendable. Great pickup IMO.

Okay. He might not make final cuts then.
Here, he prolly will. Jerry covets his players and it's common for him to keep failed players that he acquired on the roster way too long.

Or maybe he'll be our next TE!!!!! Hey, how about reviving the old Slash role!!!!!!

I'm seeing and hearing good things from Guyton lately about how excited he is to be working with the new offensive staff and the players that are included in that group. I honestly believe we are about to see changes in that group that everyone will be pleased to see. It may well be a promising sign.

He talks about seeing, firsthand, how things are very likely to improve in the weeks and months yet to come. I wanted to share that with anyone here who cares about this team. Be sure to take note of any changes that he speaks of, if you're so inclined. I was pleasantly surprised to hear of it.

He is? How do you know this?
I think many of us see things in him that offer vibes that he may be a good addition to our offense. Of course, it remains to be seen and proven as yet, but his chances of making the team seem real. He has good size, athleticism and a strong arm. That's encouraging to start with.

Maybe we'll learn even more to suit us. He'll be expected to develop his skills, no doubt. Will he prove his accuracy to be acceptable over time? We'll see. Joe Milton will be tested in TC and much later -- that's for sure. It's a process and that takes time.

Yeah. The last Patriots comment was right. They upgraded our QB room while downgrading theirs for a 5th rounder. That's what it appears to be on the surface.

If the Pats thought Milton had pretty much anything, he would not have been traded. This was purely a dump. Teams dump players either for salary cap reasons or because they don't see that player being a good player.

Clearly the Pats don't think he's any good. But after 1 year, that remains to be seen. He's a 6th round pick. They're playing the odds. Belichick probably trades Brady if Bledsoe doesn't get hurt.

Since Belly played it close to the vest, there is no way to know what he thought of Brady.

oh he can throw - the issue is anticipation and timing, give him a chance to learn and build up that skill set to couple that cannon of an arm and he will be solid.
When scouts use the word “disturbing” in your draft profile….

Since he’s been in the league Milton has done nothing but impress.

I know a lot of you are hyper focused on Dallas so you wouldn’t know that the word all through last training camp in Patriot land is Milton looked like their best QB and if you knew nothing about Maye or Milton and had to guess which one was a top pick it looked like Milton.

He gets 1 start last year and looked EXTREMELY impressive.

So it’s you that’s tapping the breaks and not what’s actually happened on the actual NFL football field.

He’s got 3 months to learn how to throw a football.
Instead of coming up with theories and what his college scouting report says maybe we should just actually watch him play football.

Uh yeah.. There is something to work with there.. Duh.

True. I was just giving the odds of a 6th round pick, and the success they usually have. I highly doubt Bill thought he had a star on the bench.
