Pax Lynch. Even if we gave up our 2 and 3, Seahawks had rejected

It could be argued it was 32 until the patriots were penalized for deflategate.

That pick was stripped well before the 2016 season games even started (May 2015). So for the entire year the SB winning team would pick 31. So if someone wanted to be lazy and not proofread and say it was the 32nd pick...it's still wrong; by a long shot.

Even ignoring all that, pick 31 was traded. Pick 32 was Cleveland's. Really no way around it. It's nit picky I get it. Reporters should just put out a better product is all.

That's a good point, if the trade was really never going to happen but Jerry was putting out this signal after the draft - it could just be Jerry keeping everyone guessing about what was smoke and what was his real intent. Jerry for all his faults is one of the better smoke signal/poker players in the draft.

I agree. And its rare they miss out on a guy they want. I know there were talks they missed out on a few guys in this draft but they sure managed to get everyone that was tied to their organization at some point this draft class.

I just have a feeling we are going to be pretty happy with Jaylon in the long run (and hopefully short run!)

See and that's another thing. This organization seems to be pretty high on Jaylan as well as Dak and all of their picks. But they nearly gave up all of them for Lynch. So to do that you must've thought Lynch was a franchise quarterback. I'm just confused to what they saw. But that is if that is true. Like I said, I believe believe there is some deception going on here. Not sure to what magnitude.

They probably thought Lynch had the "potential" to be a franchise QB. Same thing as Jerry believing Manziel had the "potential" to be a franchise QB. I'm thinking they would've liked the idea of having Lynch to groom behind Romo, but at the same time because the Seahawks refuted their offer, they are also happy to have Jaylon on the team. What you got to remember is a QB hitting is inherently more valuable to a team than a LB or other players even if they 'might' be more talented.

It's always been my belief that the Cowboys wanted Lynch but I believe they wanted Dak too. This reminds me of Jerry crying how he missed out on Manziel and drafted Zach instead. It just feels like this is some sort of mind game with him. If you truly wanted Lynch why was Dak the name that kept being associated with us more than any other qb? They kept bringing him in for workouts...... I'm sure they loved Lynch but I'm not sure if it was to the point of what they allegedly wanted to give up.

They liked Dak, but he was about their 5th option. They tried everything to get another QB , but nothing worked out for them. Dak was about the only option available that they had spent time with.

I wish Jayoon would get a feeling in his foot. I am hoping for the best , but I expect the worst.

Yeah but is it settling for the 5th option or getting their guy? It's like how Romo got here. Did they like him as a backup or did they think one day he would actually be a franchise quarterback?
