if this is a play that ONLY HAPPENS ONCE OR TWICE...

then our run game sucks balls.

I see other teams do this WAY more often...couple times a qtr, half or even series...busting off big runs on GREAT blocking. So not sure where you get this "once or twice a game" thing. It bull ship.
Calm down good lord man, you act like I’m defending zeke and that other teams rip 40 yard runs multiple times a game. In the top 25 rushers the max number of 40 yards runs this year was 4. 20 yards 13 the max by Chubb.

So not sure where you get this “WAY more often” as that doesn’t reflect reality, but you know I’m just going with reality aka “Bull ship”

But congrats on being the first person I’ve ever argued with on this forum for being pompous.

@Ranching this was the opposite of your great post lol

So i take it Stephen is NOT gonna throw in those premium Whataburger coupons this time around. Zeke is gonna have to think hard and long on this one. That is massive. Maybe he can work the drive thru for that discount.

No ...i dont mean to come iff that way. Itd just thst i see a lot of people just make up lies to make zeke look worse than he already is. 2 yards a carry...is a lie.

I just think that, even though its time to move on, we could show some civility and appreciation for running him into the ground so hard and fast.
You dont do this....well...ok....sorry for assuming and over reacting. Sincerely.

Move him to fullback, great blocker, use in the flats, screens, have pollard as your main back
Being a great blocker is why we are here.
What other rushing champion star running back had to do that so often?
wasted him.

When they did the same thing with DLaw, people stopped whining about him so much.
Yes.

But D Law actually still makes a significant and impactful play every once in a while.

Zeke on the other hand……hasn’t made a play that a dozen other guys could have made for a few years.

The idea of considering bringing Zeke back su any price after his production in recent years tells you all you need to know about this front office.

Zeke is a has been no need to commit 3M on a backup RB when the team can invest that money in other areas of needs.

I still don't like D Laws contract to production ratio, but he is a decent player. Zeke just does not give you anything you can't already get from a rookie for much cheaper and the rookie has fresh legs.

It's really nothing personal either. It's just a business decision.

This is not true. I showed the math earlier in this thread. If they cut his base salary from $10.9 million to $1 million, let's say, they would get $9.9 million in cap savings and his cap hit would be just around $7 million.

Now the issue really is how much of an actual pay cut is he willing to take? I suspect any thoughts of trimming his base salary down from $10.9 million to like $2 million is a pipe dream.
7m is still too much.

Once in a while? Dlaw is one of the best run stopping des in the league, he makes great plays all the time...problem is people equate that positions success to sacks which he doesn't make at a rate people expect for how he is paid.

Dlaws value to the defense is so understated by many that's its perplexing...however zekes value is really more as a blocker at this point and could be easily replaced

One thing that I do know about Zeke is that in the past, he has rejected an attempt to accept a salary reduction. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean he's destined to repeat that act in the future when he's confronted with that same situation. I do believe, however, that it's time for this team to divest itself of his presence, since his production has dwindled into something less than what might be acceptable for a team that intends to maintain a championship level of play. The days ahead should prove interesting in determining his fate with the Dallas Cowboys. He's surely been valuable to the Cowboys in the past and I wish him well, but it's time for this team to take care of its best interest.

Zeke has been garbage for 2.5 years, why do we compare him to an underrated player D Law makes me sick. Yes Demarcus Lawrence doesn't get sacks, but there aren't many better run defenders and he's still good at rushing the passer.

He doesn't earn the contract he's making with his production. He was paid to be a dominant pass rusher which he is far from.
