I'm going with the "over". I'm wondering how many "illegal contact" penalties we're going to get. Since this is supposed to be a "point of emphasis" this season.
Now track other games by other teams, and notice how many of those same plays go uncalled.
Take the very 1st penalty. Randy Gregory, offsides. He was BARELY lined up in the neutral zone, which goes uncalled 90% of the time. That’s why he was yelling “WOW!” at the refs right after the flag got thrown.
Kansas City’s DEs spent all game in the neutral zone vs Dallas... no calls.
11th penalty... delay of game. We snapped that ball BARELY after the clock hit zero, a play that also goes uncalled 90% of the time. This one was especially absurd... teams get away with this constantly, AND the ref was standing over the ball to make sure SF could substitute... he stood there for AGES then we got dinged for a VERY close delay of game. Total horse****.
Every team commits penalties. The amount of penalties that actually get called is what varies.
Tell me this: how did we magically go from having “average discipline” in 2020 to being INSANELY undisciplined in 2021? We were a much better team in 2021 than we were in 2020.
This dude gets it. Spot on
This dude gets it. Spot on
None as wide as ours, no.
We were dead last in penalties... while being #1 in yards, points and takeaways. That pisses me off royally.
The entire sport of football is predicated on discipline. Eleven guys being on the same page and executing their assignments.
We were somehow “VERY disciplined” when it came to moving the ball, scoring points and taking the ball away... yet “WILDLY undisciplined” in the 1 area of the game that the refs ultimately decide?
Feels like BS.
Just like it was BS that the refs didn’t call OPI on Chris Godwin in Week 1, totally robbing us of that win. I just don’t trust these refs to be unbiased. That was a GARBAGE no-call and I don’t believe for a second that it was an honest mistake.
Let me ask you this: if it was CeeDee Lamb pushing off a Bucs DB in that exact same scenario last year, do you honestly think it would’ve been a no-call?
He thinks there is some conspiracy out to get the Cowboys. If you believe that, LOL.
Also, they keep track of the frequency statistic, yet no one mentions the timing of the flags.
You guys are nuts.
The team has three playoff wins in 25 years which indicates we aren’t been all that good or disciplined for a long time.
As noted, there have been years where we rank low in penalties called and then high in penalties called. Explain that?
Or is it just that the league mandates screwing us only in certain years?
HahhahahahaI have no idea what the call would have been. Neither do you.
Your tin foil hat is embarrassing. How does this even go down? Is there some kind of secret meeting in NY where the league meets with all the officials and tells them what teams to call the most penalties on? Was there a PowerPoint presentation? Maybe it was online, like a Zoom call, and each ref was given a special code to log in?
When did this start? When did the refs start purposely trying to cost us games? It must have started after the Detroit playoff game where they gifted us a potential win when they didn’t call PI on us. Or maybe that ref hadn’t been to the meetings telling officials to screw us.
Hahhahahaha
The fact that you’re bringing up the Detroit playoff game says it all.
ONLY THE COWBOYS could be accused of being “gifted a win” because of a call that happened with 8+ minutes left and Detroit leading at the time, despite several other documented bad calls against us in that same game.
Your take on the Lamb hypothetical is adorable. Even more adorable if you actually believe it.
Go back to Week 1 of 2020 (Cowboys at Rams) for a ref that decided to call OPI WAY too strictly... to screw Dallas out of a win, of course. Funny how that’s the common denominator.
You don’t even see the double standards. You must not watch other NFL games besides the Cowboys.
It could very well just be a subconscious bias by guys who grew up hating the Cowboys and maybe still do (like 80% of NFL fans). You didn’t answer the question.
How does this even go down? How do the refs know to stick it to the Cowboys? Is there a memo? Who is making the decision to purposely call those penalties?
And LOL at now trying to use the time of when the Cowboys got a massive gift call to make it seem like not a big deal.
You sound silly here with your conspiracies.
It could very well just be a subconscious bias by guys who grew up hating the Cowboys and maybe still do (like 80% of NFL fans).
Maybe because the Cowboys were such trash in 2020, they knew they wouldn’t need to hammer us with penalties.Oh so subconcious bias. They just throw flags because they don't like the Cowboys. But how come they don't do it ever year? Does their subconciousness only kick in during random seasons? So in 2020, when the Cowboys were middle of the pack in penalties called, did the refs who hated Dallas (according to you seems like it would be a ton of refs in this category) have their subconcious turned off? But then in 2021, they remembered they hated Dallas so they threw a ton of penalties to hurt them?
The more you talk, the crazier you sound.
I set the line at 7.5 penalties. This is called penalties, not accepted penalties.
I got over.
Maybe because the Cowboys were such trash in 2020, they knew they wouldn’t need to hammer us with penalties.
Call it what you want. Anyone who paid close attention noticed the garbage we faced from the refs last year... including our own players.
