People Are Sick

There's an elderly lady who lives near me. She is a former Army nurse and she doesn't have any family. She considers my family hers. There is an abandoned shack near the alley and some stray cats live there. She feeds them every day. Food and water. They are her babies and she feeds them better than most cats who have homes.

One of her cats is an all black named Fluffy. He is the friendliest cat you can imagine. Loves everyone.

Today when I got home from church and before I could even see what the score of the game was my kids told me I needed to go see Mary Louise. Someone hung that friendly cat in that abandoned shed.

When Fluffy didn't come eat this morning and didn't again this afternoon Mary Louise went looking for him and found him hanging by a rope in one of the rooms.

She is broken hearted.

I know that whomever did it that the cat saw someone to say hello to, and was so friendly he was an easy target for a sick mind.

Tucson Police cut the cat down but left the rope. I took the rope down.

Heaven help the sick jerk who did that if I find out.

Thanks man. I will. She is very sweet. I hurt for her. She cried so much when I went to see her.

The loss hurts, but I hurt more for my friend.

This touches me especially since I care for a colony of strays. Last year someone shot one of my sweetest cats with a bb gun and killed him.

There are some sick freaks out there, and I believe that there is a special place in Hell for people that kill animals.

My heart goes out to the lady. Losing an animal friend is never easy.

I'm not a big animal lover and could not see myself grieving for a pet. However, people who kill animals usually move on to people when they get older.People should not kill for pleasure and that is an indication for our decline as a soceity.

People who do this stuff just are dimented. There is really no logical way to even try and understand it.

Since I have had kids, everytime I watch the news and read the paper and read about loser parents who hurt their children I just dont understand how it is possible or how dimented you have to be to even think like that let alone go through with it.

I just read a story in the paper two days ago about a couple in fort worth, the mom was 19 and the father was 27, they have a 1 year old and they took her to the hospital because she had a rash. Turns out the rash was from sort of reaction to the beatings this kid was getting. Apparently she all kinds of broken bones and her feet were black....black...from the bruises from them being struck.

Its sickening. That is why I hate vick and think he should never have been allowed back in the league. What he did was from the mind of a real looney. He is an unstable person.

anyway, I feel bad for your friend. Ignorant and evil people never understand how important friendship from animals can be.

I learned that lesson when I was 12 when a neighbor of mine who was a maniac, went over and beat my other neighbors dog. The dog was like the neighborhood dog and practically my families because that is where she was most of the time. I couldnt have a dog because of allergies, so Omar, who belonged to the older lady next door, who was a retired widow in her late 60's, was free to roam around and basically just walked between the bushes and came to my house, everyday.

One day I was just getting home from school, and my neighbor's son and daughter n law were at my house. The crazy maniac neighbor that lived behind us who tormented me while growing up...had been drinking and smoking weed, my neighbors dog was afraid of thunderstorms and would howel during them....she was in her own garage......so he goes over with a broom and beat her head in so she would shut up...a 12 year old beagal. He didnt even have the guts to kill her, he left her 90% dead and went home and never called anyone. My neighbor the older lady came home and found her and called the police and they called a vet. He put her down, part of her brain was on the concrete but she was still alive.

My neighbors son showed up when there was only one cop there, he was about 35 or 40....he parked his car in front of the maniacs house and walked to the front porch where the kid who was about 20 who did it and his friends were. They hadnt arrested him yet. He literally shoved a loaded shotgun in his mouth. Seriously.

My dad and other people in the neighborhood called attention to it and more cops showed up and they got him calmed down.

Its one of the worst memories of my life. I hate that guy to this day and wish nothing but horrible things ever happen to him.

Evil people just dont know or understand how much animals mean to people.

My sister Mary (who herself was killed in a violent manner) had a puppy that she got for the kids while she was living in Philadelphia. She had put the puppy outside on a chain while her and the girls went shopping (she chained him because being a puppy he ate the furniture and she didn't want him ruining her house while she was away otherwise he would have been indoors) she came back from shopping to find puppy all over her house someone (s) slung him around on the chain and beat him against the house to he finally exploded just left all his blood and guts all over the side of the house.

Unbelievable. The torture/killing of animals ignites a rage within me like nothing else can. It is the only thing that makes me angry and nauseous at the same time. The sad thing is, it scares me that such stories are becoming more and more common as time goes on. Our society is decaying in more ways than we know. If I ever come across a person performing such acts I won't be held responsible for my actions.

I know it's wishful thinking, but I only hope the cat went through minimal suffering before it succumbed.

...find myself watching the young kids who come and pet our family's pets with some interest.

I wonder if the lack of socialization with animals and the responsibility of caring for something that is weaker than you is a failing of our society.

Everybody and everything needs something to care for them. The earlier kids learn this and are able to extend that compassion the better our world will be.
