I have taken him home at least 3 times. They always act suspicious as to your motives for returning the dog. The front gate is always locked. You ring the bell and about 50% of the time no one will come even though their cars are there.
One time this guy who was tweaking hard on meth jumped the fence and ran through their yard. He stole a bicycle and I thought it belonged to them so I was trying to return it. A friend of theirs had just left their house. She was sure that bicycle was theirs. They wouldn't even come to the door for her. I asked her if she had their phone number and could she call them. She said, "they don't like phone calls." She wanted to take the bicycle and I wouldn't let her. Turns out it wasn't theirs. It belongs to the guy who owns the shed where the cat was hung.
The kid we suspect is aloof. You can't even be friendly to him. He is heavy for his age, has long hair that always seems unwashed, but maybe it's just unkempt, and even in the Summer he will wear a grey hoodie. About the only thing you ever see him do is ride his skateboard around the block.
This is all circumstantial evidence at best, but the kid worries me.
I have actually considered that. Yes there is a place. Easily hidden too.CliffnMesquite;3129979 said:'but the kid worries me'
He should. You said you wanted to know if he haunted the shed. Is there any place out of the way to hang a game camera.
No, we never see any of their friends. The lady I mentioned reminded me of a human mouse. You basically know she has been abused and expects the next blow at any moment no matter who is nearby.vta;3130014 said:My condolences. I know the type and yes, you are stuck with nothing more than hunches at this point. Not to be a bother, but do ever see this friend of theirs? If she gave that much info, maybe she can be some kind of conduit to at least let them get the drift of the perception surrounding them.
Like Cliff said, surveillance is really the only kind of option you have.
Good luck. These situations suck.
I live in a great neighborhood actually. I really like my neighbors. I look out for them. I help them fix stuff. There's just one family nearby who don't fit in and it is because they are anti-social.DIAF;3130379 said:Sounds like your neighborhood is a real winner. I think I'd be looking to move outta there ASAP if you can.

Hostile;3129638 said:I hate to say this. Several of us in the neighborhood believe it is a 14 year old boy. His first adventure in our neighborhood was to take some blue paint his parents used to paint the fence around their house and he sloshed a weird looking symbol on this rusted metal fence. Same symbol over and over. The paint trail led right back to their house and the paint matched.
The owner of the fence confronted the mother about it. She is a psychiatrist or psychologist, I cannot remember which. She defended him as a good boy and said he would never do anything wrong.
Well, this kid who won't do anything wrong burned down a different shed about 8 months ago.
Killing something seems like the next progression to some of us. Where this cat was hung in the shed is about 30 to 35 yards from his back yard.
Now it could very easily be someone who was just walking up that alley. But this kid knows about that shed. You can bet your boots on that.
Some of us are wondering what we should do. We have no evidence. Just suspicions because it seems he is screaming for attention and has a Mother who is denying there is a problem.
I fixed the hasps on that shed this morning so no one can get without literally breaking the doors to do it. I showed Dan the canon ball. He wanted it for his office. I don't blame him.
My daughter's 11 year birthday we did a surprise party for her. I was taking out the trash and the dumpster is in the alley near where this cat was hung. There was a guy dressed entirely in black from head to toe. His top was a black hoodie. When he saw me he approached in a rather threatening manner. I quickly threw the two trash bags in the dumpster and turned to face him. He was about 3 feet away and his eyes were wild looking.Jon88;3132242 said:What happened with the crackhead in the alley? I never heard that one.
I can't believe he wasn't out cold. It was a dead on the button shot and I threw my weight into it. I can really fight if I have to, but I don't like to. I've really hurt a couple of people in fights, and I'm not real proud of that. Had he kept coming for more I have a feeling he was so high I might have been in one hell of a scrap.Jon88;3132848 said:Man that's wild. He must have been high. I would have been a little bit meaner and knocked him out. Then I would have called the cops.

He didn't talk and just stared at me. Him wiping his mouth and looking at the blood on his hand and then walking away was freaky. Almost surreal.
I came back in the house and stuck my hand under the cold water immediately. No one could believe it until I showed them my hand swelled up and bruised. I really thought I broke it, but I didn't. It hurt for about 2 weeks though.

There is an abandoned shack near the alley and some stray cats live there. She feeds them every day. Food and water. They are her babies and she feeds them better than most cats who have homes.
One of her cats is an all black named Fluffy. He is the friendliest cat you can imagine. Loves everyone.
Today when I got home from church and before I could even see what the score of the game was my kids told me I needed to go see Mary Louise. Someone hung that friendly cat in that abandoned shed.
When Fluffy didn't come eat this morning and didn't again this afternoon Mary Louise went looking for him and found him hanging by a rope in one of the rooms.
She is broken hearted.
I know that whomever did it that the cat saw someone to say hello to, and was so friendly he was an easy target for a sick mind.
Tucson Police cut the cat down but left the rope. I took the rope down.
Heaven help the sick jerk who did that if I find out.
