Let me put things into context instead of blanket statements without it. Tony had two balls dropped on him in the Giant's game that could've won it. Eil's magnificent 4th quarter also included two so poorly thrown balls that TWO 49er defenders knocked each other off the ball or they would've been easy INT's. Flacco took advantage of one of the worst bonehead mistakes in playoff history.

But -- they did it and they won, can't argue that but here's the thing. We will always agree to disagree on Romo but you have no idea if he will do it or not, nor do I. But I root for him to do it whereas I get the impression you guys are holding your breath for the "I told you so" moment if he never does and that is sad.

I want nothing more than the Cowboys (Romo led or not) to win a Super Bowl. I crave it like a three-day starved hyena in the sierra craves its next meal. Heck just give me a good run in the playoff. Give me a NFC title game for God's sakes. You really think my desire for a new QB supersedes that? C'mon man....I've invested way too much time, money, and emotions into this franchise the last 2 decades to be disrespected like that as a fan. In the past, people have bellyached about T.O., Free, Julius Jones, Greg Ellis, etc...yet nobody ever questioned their fandom when they did so. With Romo it is different (at least on this site). If you express any type of desire for the alternative you're liable to have your fandom or intelligence questioned.

Is the percentage even enough to be worthy of getting the attention it has in a few of these threads?

I'm not sure but it just doesn't seem like your really benefitting to any notable extent when were talking about the difference between 10M out of 130 or 10M out of 140.

It would be interesting to see someone tabulate what the current restructures work out to be dollars wise.

That % absolutely is a benefit. Particularly if you are talking pay as you go vs. 40 mill or so of money pushed back. Pay as you go and you've used 31% of your yearly cap. Push back and it is 29%. You might call that chump change -- but it amounts to nearly 3 mill of extra money in cap space to spend.

People call this "paying on the credit card" but it is actually the opposite. The expense goes DOWN proportionally when you push money back

What did he do against the Commanders with the division on the line? 3 picks. What did he do against the Giants in 2011? Nothing. What about with the game on the line against Denver? Green Bay? Picks. It is what he does.

His bobbled snap against Seattle in 2006 pretty much sums up his career in a nutshell. Fails when the game is on the line at the very end.

How much longer do you need to wait? When Flacco won his Super Bowl last year, he had been to the playoffs every single season since being drafted and won at least one playoff game each season. Compare that to Romo who has won just one measly playoff win. As many as the likes of Tebow, Schaub and TJ Yates. How much more proof do you need that he just is not that guy?

4 regular season games in 10 years? That's all you got?

Let's play a game. Every time you name a time Romo didn't come through with the game on the line (whatever that means), you get 3 points. Every time I name a game he did, I get 1. Whoever has the least amount of points leaves the board forever. What do you say?

The worst way to bash Romo is to bring up Flacco. Prior to the super bowl run Flacco was terrible in the playoffs. He beat Tom Brady one year going 4-10 for 36 yards- wins in the playoffs dont tell the whole story.

Reading this thread, you would think that the crybabies that are worrying about Romo's contract or any other contract...you would think it is their money! lol And, I bet most of them cannot even balance their checkbook, or even have a checkbook!

I have come to the conclusion that the most deluded part of the Boys so called fan base consists of Jerry lovers and Romo haters.

lol Yeah...you got me there!

:)

In all seriousness, Romo is a Cowboy so I don't understand all the wailing and gnashing of teeth. He may not be Roger Staubach but he is sure as heck isn't the only reason why they are unable to get over the hump.

Not really...you have your Jerry haters and Romo lovers. You also have the posters that think they know just how to run an NFL team while at the same time trying to avoid the collection agency that is after them.

Absolutely not all I have. I just named the first games that came to my head the last few seasons and there's even more than that. Detroit 2011. Jets 2011.

Lol @ leaving the board forever. You take this a little too seriously.

Keep living in fantasy land you have created in your mind that Romo is a clutch QB. Clutch QBs have more than 1 playoff win their entire career.

Doesn't it just mean that there isn't a full roster under contract for 2015?

At this point last year we were like 30m over, so it's all in context. But there are plenty of guys under contract for 2015 right now.

Getting to the playoffs does consistently. And Romo has missed the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years. That is very telling.

Wins are not a real stat. Clutch is a made up concept. Now who's in fantasy land?

How about 4 points?
