Per Clarence Hill: The Cowboys have discussed making changes at safety

Who agrees….?

You’d think a team that’s clearly throwing away a season, and relies only on the draft to improve would try to find a way to get more draft picks by selling at the deadline.

Apparently not these guys. Gotta continue to sell, sell, sell.

Either that or they truly have no clue at all what they are looking at or how to evaluate certain things.

The DC is trash. He doesn't make the system fit his players strengths. Everyone is being used improperly if you ask me. Wouldn't surprise me if the players quietly are saying the same thing amongst themselves.

Switching the safeties won't make a difference as long as Zimmer is the coordinator. Believe me.
The issue starts with Zimmer trying to make his system fit the players. Zimmer uses bigger lineman. His first mistake was having Micah play edge.

Everything starts there. If Kneeland played Edge and Micah plays LB with Kendricks, You’d see an uptick in run defense.

Instead you have 240lb player in Micah trying to set an edge. And now without him you have a more traditional lineup that Zim would prefer but it’s a bunch of 3rd and 4th stringers which creates a whole new set of problems.

Also the talent on the line is bad. You can’t fix that. Mazi Smith is in a scheme he should thrive in and he still sucks.

He was getting blown off the ball too the other game
That’s the issue, what can be fixed?? Linval is old, Mazi I don’t understand at all. I don’t see what else a coach can do. You can teach technique and even try to make their reads easier. but after that??????

Yeah I remember when Wilson needed to get on the field but Garrett refused. Pretty sure that was to keep Jeff Heath in the lineup.

Funny how things come full circle…. Ya know how you start out life in diapers and end up back there eventually.
HEY! Don't rush me!!

Fix stopping the run.
sure, he’ll have to all out blitz though. And I’m actually fine with that. But they’re gonna get beat for TDs in the air most likely but as they say if you can’t get there with 4 bring more. They have to stop something.

Details?
Zimmer is a atrong front 4 DC
Our DT are weak, our DE are mia

He has to now blitz for pressure
Forces Wilson to man coverage on Kittle
Toasted
Falcons TE " fair" also

His choice of no pressure, but zone
Cannot Zugzwang it

I agree with you

But you don’t trade prime Micah and CeeDee to try and find the next Micah and CeeDee

Zimmer has to put Thomas or Mukuamu in if he has to blitz and leave his SS in man coverage. We know the weaknesses of the S group, yet the players are put in adverse situations based off their skill set. Example: two seasons ago, in the playoffs, DQ put Mukuamu in the game and he played man up and did well. Subbing Dono was a no-brainer based off scheme, but now Wilson is the scapegoat? C'mon now.

Changes at safety were obvious weeks ago. I suggest giving Thomas some playing time, but at this point we can only play what we got. Thomas and Bell might not be the answer either.

Dont disagree at all. Didn’t mean those two, and I also…in all fairness…made that comment not knowing what return any player may bring. If it’s nothing more than a late round swap, doesn’t much matter.

I just wonder if our co-GMs bother to get any more information than I have, which is none.
