Player said he wants to play for a 3-4 team.... There are like five 3-4 teams in the league. The reporters are going to piece it together. Quick someone get TO to say something.

That article does not say that the Cowboys are on the trade list for Peppers.

Just that the cowboys are one team on PEPPER's own wish list.

Get annoyed when articles are touted out there like it is one thing when it is something else...nothing new.

How about a 2nd and a 4th LoL. Hey I'm sure if the Pats wanted him if they offered that they could get him. If we could get him for that then welcome to Dallas J-Pep.

You did not write the article. I was talking about the article and from what I can tell you just copy and pasted the title.

Getting Peppers whichever 3-4 team it is depends on being able to come up with the money to pay him way more than draft choices. He's going to want a pretty good salary and guaranteed money. I would be thinking of enhancing my value for an uncapped year by going to a highly competitive team. Team success + player stats/big plays = big money. Only reason for him to consider a short contract.

Can he nix a trade outright or just by virtue of willingness to renegotiate?

He'd be brought in only for a "win now" situation, not a concerted effort to look for youth to build for the future/long run.

I'd still rather see what Marcus Dixon can doa long w/ maybe a draft pick in there

this wont be done, first we dont have the money,
second we only have about 11 million left in cap money
3rd we have to sign ware this year;
that will take about 5 to 6 million in cap money,
then about 1 million in draft picks, undrafted players in draft and practice squad

that will leave about 4 million left, we still have to sign possibly carlos polk and keith davis;

so that will leave about 2-3 million left for reserves, this wont happen and we just signed igor, so forget peppers coming here, most likely he will go to the patriots

I doubt he comes here, but we can free up some money depending on what happens with Ellis.

So many more teams run the 34 than when Dallas first converted, that it seems the advantage is gone.

I remember Parcells talked about only half a dozen or so teams running it at the time, so it was easier to get the smaller DE types to play OLB for you, as well as the huge 34 DEs usually not being guys that fit as well in the 43.

Pat Kirwan also said back several months ago that the athletic, playmaking tackle on the inside in the 43 has become even more coveted than the passrushing DE. He thought the scarcity of that type of player was causing the 34 to grow in popularity.

Perhaps our next coach will switch back to the 43. Any advantage that Parcells thought he had in drafting 34 players is disappearing, if it isn't already gone.

It won't be that easy. I'm sure CAR wants to be well compensated for trading one of the best DLs in the league...and our 51st may not be enough!

We dump Elllis, we pick up an additional $5 million in cap room. So the cap room is not the problem here, it is the compensation.

The Panthers are going to want some high picks for Peppers and I doubt that they would settle for the 51st pick. They are going to want more.

Couldn't we include Ellis in the trade?

I don't think we get him, but I would have to think we would include Ellis in the trade.
