How about a 2nd and a 4th LoL. Hey I'm sure if the Pats wanted him if they offered that they could get him. If we could get him for that then welcome to Dallas J-Pep.
Nah, why not send Ellis and a 3rd maybe.
They'd still have a pass rusher, a 3rd rounder, and Ellis would be going home to Carolina.

We dump Elllis, we pick up an additional $5 million in cap room. So the cap room is not the problem here, it is the compensation.

The Panthers are going to want some high picks for Peppers and I doubt that they would settle for the 51st pick. They are going to want more.

They can ask all they want, but all 4 teams on Peppers list know that Carolina absolutely positively cannot keep him on the roster no matter what. They won't even be able to sign their rookies.

Not saying they still wont make out pretty well for him, but they are on a deadline.

That's what I'm sayin...throw a 5th in there too for good measure.

That article does not say that the Cowboys are on the trade list for Peppers.

Just that the cowboys are one team on PEPPER's own wish list.

Get annoyed when articles are touted out there like it is one thing when it is something else...nothing new.

Yep.

Peppers wants to be a Cowboy but we can't top New Englands offer.

i'm sure it wouldn't take you 13 years and counting to rebuild a defense.

If he wants to be a Cowboy and we get in the deal, all he would need to do to make the NE offer not work would be to whine. Remember, he's the one holding all the cards.

Ellis, a 3rd, and a 5th(based on performance) should be more than enough.
Ellis was a 1st rounder as well and he still has solid production specially in pass rush situations.

Carolina doesn't get to make any decisions until Peppers signs the Franchise contract, even then they'd be in trouble when it comes to signing rookies. Remember they have some of the smallest wiggle room when it comes to the cap in the NFL.

Ellis a third and 5th!!! Let's do it! Julius wants to come in here and give that 5 million to Julius! The 3rd is a high pick, you get a pass rusher and a 5th! Not to mention 16 mil off your books! Please Jerry,Please..that probowl a few months ago made me salivate...

Seriously, imagine.

Newman _______________________________*(Scandrick)________ Jenkins

__________Sensabaugh ________________________Hamlin

*Brooking replaced by Scandrick on nickle situations.

Our D has the potential to be disgusting if we get this deal done.
4 quality pass rushers (Peppers, Ratliff, Ware, James).
Good young secondary. And Sensabaugh had 4 picks last year.

Its fun to think about, but I honestly dont see us making a move for Peppers. I think Spencer is going to be given every opportunity to start.

He was a freaking first round pick and if we trade for Peppers, that first round pick will be watching the game from the bench.

We cant keep blowing first round picks on backups, at some point you have to see if they are starting material or not. Spencer maybe could give us 8-10 sacks a year, we dont know.

So my point is that I think they will let Spencer try to win the starting job and see what he can do this year. If he totally sucks, then we know we blew another first rounder on a LB (dont forget about Barbie).

I just wish the Cowboys were not on his wish list.
Hasn't he heard? Old, has-beens are a dime a dozen but very expensive.

Take off, hoser, we don't need you, eh!

Yep, mention Cowboys, take a poop beside it and it's news worthy.

I frankly have reached the point where I think we will be lucky to get the same production out of Spenceer that we got out of Ellis prior to his position change. 6-8 sacks a year and that is it.

You did not write the article. I was talking about the article and from what I can tell you just copy and pasted the title.
Double secret probation apology then. ;)

I agree with this although if you could afford it getting Peppers is a no-brainer. I'd rather get Pepper like production from Spencer with Ellis providing insurance. Cheaper and leaves money for other 'thin' areas.
