I don't think he has been consistently targeted enough to put any blame on him. This guy needs to be worked into our offense, not upgraded (especially since we can't afford to upgrade him).

We have the weapons to deal with those blitzes, we just didn't try anything different. Same thing every time...
do you watch the all-22? he doesn't get consistently open my man. he's not as quick and subtle in his cuts as you give him credit for. most good/decent corners don't have issues keeping up with him b/c he can't beat you over the top. if we keep him, we still need a wr with more speed.

As much as the Cowboys need to address other positions on the team, I would love to see Todd Gurley in a Cowboy's uniform next year, if the Cowboys are unable to get a deal done with Murray. Gurley would take over the league behind that young offensive line.

People forget that AP had fumbling issues his first couple of years in the league. Demarco's fumbling issues aside. I don't think AP is a far and away improvement of the Cowboys game as a whole. If he were, then I'd be for it

-Dwayne Harris' value continues to plummet. I think all those monster hits he took the last few years has worn down his body. I also think the guys in front of him are doing a poor job this year.

This is spot on

Zordon -I love Dez more than anyone but his inability to get separation from corners and droughts in the middle of games is starting to concern me. I see a player that's closer to $10million/yr than $15million. What say you?

I have always felt that because there have been too many games where Dez has been neutralized by CB that are historically average.

-If Cole Beasley is as good as some claim he is, he should have taken over that type of game. He is someone I'm still looking to upgrade next year.

Actually that type of game really favors Jason Witten. Part of problem was he was max protecting too often. Romo should have shortened his drops and fired quick throws to Witten and Dez in middle of field.

-After yesterday's game I'm officially 100% on the AP to Dallas bandwagon. If AP is cut and willing to take a paycut, he needs to be in a Dallas uniform next season. I say this because of Murray's salary demands, his fumble issues, and his inability to run in open space. Felt like he left some yards out there again.

I agree with AP and I would also sign C.J. Spiller on the cheap as insurance. I like Spiller speed better than Randle.

-Anthony Spencer is either really rusty or he's done folks. Sad I expected more from him. I remember Broaddus predicting 2 sacks in his first game back.

If you watch Spencer trying to change direction you will know that he will never be 100% again. That was major surgery he recovered from and fact he is on the field playing at highest level (NFL) is a testament to him. But his better years are gone.

-Kyle Wilber and CJ Spillman are two players that I wish we would upgrade immediately. Wilber is a terrible football player. Soft and never makes plays. The dropoff from Durant to him is mind boggling and part of the reason I wouldn't mind a trade today. I want to see Jakar Hamilton active next week over Spillman.

Your going to pay thru nose making a desperate trade right now. Dallas is going to need Wilber or Hitchens to step up.

-Wilcox's interception gave me some hope for the future. He had a good game imo.

I agree. He was physical in this game and showed awareness.

-Please stop the McClain - Sean Lee comparisons. McClain looked lethargic out there and basically cost us several drives with his poor tackling. I think the whole defense was shocked by Washington's physicality. They have some big backs that are difficult to take down but their slender tight ends were also successful shaking tackles.

This is what I am watching closely because we are starting to see a drop off in McClain production. I would caution coming to any conclusions and just let this play out. I would still resign him but there needs to be competition at that spot in case he flakes out.

-Dwayne Harris' value continues to plummet. I think all those monster hits he took the last few years has worn down his body. I also think the guys in front of him are doing a poor job this year.

I have been big supporter of his but I even have to admit it might be wise to try and upgrade here.

-Chris Jones is lucky he's Bailey's holder.

well your honest [over reaction]
My personal take is the team had a bad game. It happens.
IMO AP wouldn't be my choice, too much baggage.
Wilbur we can do better. Don't understand DHarris and his drop off?
McClain had a bad game. McClain remains a hell of a pick up.
McClain will get a big pay day this off season and will remain our MLB

I don't think anyone would contest that. But he might be cheaper during a year when Dallas has lots of expiring contracts.

Not worried about Dez at all. Romo had little time to throw when blitzed; read very little.

It is a bit more than a bad game but a terrible response to being blitzed. Fortunately we don't play Haslett but once more this year. Most DCs don't have the stones to blitz like that. We will play teams well offensively unless they all can and will do that.

McClain is fine. I still say he's a better Sam than Mike but I don't feel a strongly about that as I did; not nearly.

Two things...

-I couldn't believe how badly this team mucked up its blitz protection.

-Hayden was awful and yet had twice the number of snaps that T. McClain did... who played reasonably well (again).

the defense had a pretty bad game. they've been otherwise good enough. we are 6-2. i feel a little better today.

Actually thought the defense was good...held the Skins to 3 points for most of the game....The Offense just hung the defense out to dry....this defense is not good enough yet to take over a game.....but when the offense falls apart with 3 and outs and turnovers it puts a lot of pressure on the D and wears them out pretty quick. Skins jacked the offense up.....

Why would anybody fall over themselves (yeah I know we are talking about Jerry here) to sign a soon to be 30 year old RB. particularly for big money? Makes no sense.

that is alright, the more Murray fumbles the less he will get from us and other teams so he will end up back here. It was a team loss, they needed it, because I believe after seeing all the hoopla last night they were getting a little full of themselves

point is people are quick to panic or in some cases are just eager to jump on the Cowboys because of certain agendas they have in what the team should or should not do. Dallas lost that sucks, Dallas played poorly that too sucks but Dallas is also 6-2 right now and still in full control of their own destiny.

Dallas is at the half way point in their season sitting at 6-2 I doubt many of the same who are in a tizzy today even thought Dallas would be in that position.

Yes, it was only one game....but it was a Monday Night Game..a Prime Time game...a Division game against a huge rival.........Garrett does not do well in Prime time games... ....failed again to have the team prepared.....try the 5 p's (proper planning prevents poor performance.)....
.didn't surprise me one bit.....but it was hard to watch.

- Cole and Dwayne are slowly becoming easily replaceable. Moreso Cole, he doesnt really have a role at the moment anymore. It does seem he isn't getting open enough either when he does have chances.

- Harris is trusting his blocking and coverage on ST way too much and it hasn't been there for most of the season. Harris is still good at ST, he just can't work with much of the blocking.

- I am fine with Murray fumbling as it will bring his price down. He was the sole reason we were even in the game guys, relax. I would draft a RB to replace Randle if need be if anything.

- Dez should of caught a few balls that would of been 1 TD and a couple chain movers.

-When Witten misses a pass it scares me to death as it floats in the air for too long!

- Defense did OK, what killed us was Colt's mobility more than anything, and missed tackles.

- Rolando was still a force in the game regardless. Don't expect this guy to be Jesus with a star on his helmet. He will have some errors, he has been away from the game for quite a bit.

- Durant loss will hurt because our depth is awful at the LB position.

-Every year we struggle with Washington and Philly because they man up with lesser skilled players and blitz us to high heaven because it rattles Romo. Every year we fail to effectively implement screens and stretches. We need to learn how to counter that defensive mindset.

6-2 feels good regardless, Romo seems like a go. I still think we beat AZ as our OL will make a statement after last night. Also expect the defense to play with some extra umph as Marinelli will be on their backs all week.

Cheers.
