Just listened to Pete Carroll interview on Sirius NFL Radio, and he was nothing but full of praise for Dallas. Paraphrasing here, of course, but he basically said that Dallas was a very good (with emphasis on "very") and very tough team. The host tried to give him an excuse for the loss by asking if in-game injuries affected the outcome. He stated that in no way did injuries change things. He stated that Dallas took them out of the way they normally play and that Dallas was able to stay with the way they normally play. He also said something about his players being taken out of their comfort zone. He also said that when TW made the 3rd and 20 catch, that it was all downhill for Dallas from there. It was a fun listen.

Ever since the 9ers game Cowboys according to Church no longer wanted to be the nail and instead wanted to be the hammer. And they have with some very physical play

He's right on all points. Especially the TW catch. After that play everything pretty much went in our favor. It's like it sucked the life out of Seattle.

It really did. It was the straw that broke the camel's back. They were already fighting an uphill battle against a team that was more physical than them and better prepared than them. The turnovers had kept them in the game and given them hope, but when they got Dallas into a 3rd and 20 and Dallas got it anyway, they just knew it wasn't their day.

And Dallas didn't get the first down because Seattle wasn't doing what it should... they got the first down because they made a fantastic play that nobody could stop.

It was a backbreaker for Seattle and their fans.

Then, the OL just mashed them in the run game and that was that. Lick your wounds and move on to next week.

A thing of beauty.

Although he meant it as a component when he said before the game "I'm glad we are getting them early"
Could have been unintentional bulletin board material. Lol

"taken out of our comfort zone"...........translation, got out butts kicked. He did need to get humbled a bit. Before the game, he had said that they were glad to get the Cowboys early.

I find him to be a pretty classy guy.

I forgot to mention that he was also extremely complimentary of Romo on his escape/throw to TW. It is, indeed nice to see the team getting, but more importantly, deserving praise for a change. Anybody that projected Dallas to be where they are now, are either total morons or total football geniuses. I now am seeing hope for a return to the big game before I Die! :)

Yep...but he truly was being complimentary.

Another way of interpreting the "took us out of our comfort zone" comment is "they imposed their will on us". Either way, good stuff!

Have always liked Pete going back to his Jets days and Patriots days. A very aggressive D Coordinator back then.

A lot of coaches might have come up with some excuse like claiming the short week was a problem. Whether that played a role or not, they lost and that's all that any smart coach would want to say. He did the right thing. Anytime a team is truly as superior as Seattle was touted as being, in my opinion they should be able to win at home. Especially so, with a raucous crowd like the one Seattle has at their venue. We should be so fortunate.

Me too. I've heard people say he's arrogant and smug, but he's never struck me that way at all.

I think he shows a side of leadership where enthusiasm leads the team and galvanizes them for one purpose.

The flip side is what Jimmy was. A task master who held people accountable.

I like both when they succeed. I suppose I am a leadership band wagoner.

Is it better to be feared or loved? :D
