Good point spoken well. I'd add we have trouble in short yardage situations including the goal line.

I think Roy meant the OL is not as bad as some people make it out to be.

He knows that.. burm just likes to cherry pick parts of sentences and react to them. Its all good.

I don't post much but this comment just screamed at me to ask, Where did Pete say that Murray was garbage?!

His statement basically said that Tony is a diamond among trash. He said Romo carried us last year and the rest of the team was 'garbage'.

Well the OL is garbage. The team overall (excuse or not) was terrible because of injuries. The OL was terrible AND decimated by injuries. Romo was lucky to get thru the year at all much less do so and have a stellar year in the stat department.

I don't like excuses but man...sometimes they are a fact of life.

The only legitimate complaint I see here is the Cowboy's tried to field the OL they did before the season started. That's what we should be griping about.

Threw together a quick chart to illustrate the "3 year extension" description

Great work, assuming its right, it's so obvious that this is a 4 yr deal. But we could still pull the ripcord after season 3 without too much dead money.

They still had a solid offensive line, and the starters that they lost were not as meaningful to the team as the starters we lost imo.

Well, one bright spot is that the mediots have already maxed-out on blaming Romo for everything, so the big salary will not increase the amount of blame they heap upon him. /sarcasm

I don't agree with the "garbage team" comment. He has a garbage line, which led to a garbage running game, but he has a quality receiving group.

If it's not garbage...it's largely the kind of thing you'd find at a flea market.

Murray is above average when he's healthy, but perpetually misses a lot. Overall our backs were sub-par. The line was pathetic. Meanwhile even when Austin is on the field...he was never an explosive threat with his hammies ready to blow.

We didn't have good receiving threats off the bench.

The defense overall is nothing special. Sacks...below average. Turnovers and sacks well below average once more. Did injuries contribute...sure...but I'm looking at the reality of the situation. Staying healthy is just part of the game.

Special Teams..ranked 17th.

Romo does carry the team.

That's not what i said, little guy.. why don't you go back and quote the entire sentence.

Or just let it go and we can move on.

Romo's situation is a lot like Archie Manning's. Rotten luck and lack of help.

Marino too. After Marino's first year, what did he do? I always felt for him because it seemed like the Dolphins never tried to help him with any kind of running game.
New England, no defense, no running game. Green Bay teams, no defense, no offensive line, no running game.

Can't understand how they find a way to win playoff games.

No one wants to admit that every team has weak spots. No team has a strong running game, strong OL, strong receivers, strong TE play, a strong D and great ST play every year.. even though it seems that's what some people here expect us to put around Romo every year.

We've had years where we had a good running game, where we had solid OL play, where we've had great receivers, a very good D, etc.. but its never going to happen all at once, so lets just start operating under the assumption that if we are ever going to win it all, its going to have to be with a team that has its weak areas that we'll have to overcome.

Loser? Oh what NFL team are you the starting QB for?

Marino is regarded as one of the best QBs to play the game.

Prisco is the best follow on Twitter, and it's not even close. He watches alot of game video and calls it like he sees it. Often ruffling the feathers of many "journalists" along the way.
