Yeah I doubt it's going to kill anyone if a superstar plays in another uniform anymore (As pointed out Joe and Emmitt did it so did Jerry Rice) but I'll admit, as a fan, I'd rather not see him wearing any other uniform.

Joe just never looked right in a Chiefs uniform. Troy never would have either, had he went somewhere else.

I never did get used to Jerry in a Oakland or Seattle uniform either.

If Emmitt can go play for Arizona then Favre can go play anywhere he wants. In the end going to Arizona did nothing to hurt Emmitt's image with the Cowboys. It just made his record a bit harder to reach.

If Favre wants to play let him play...

This!

Emmitt left. Favre might leave. In the end they close their careers out the way they want to, playing football. Nuthin' wrong with that.

Have a hard time understanding why this whole 'saga' is a story...Who cares?...He wants to play, he doesn't, big deal...The fan reaction surprises me the most, I suppose...No one owns Brett, if the guy can still play and wants to, what's the problem?

As for the media?...Of course they're rolling with it in an otherwise slow time of the year in sports 'news' until we get to hear more about A-Rod and Madonna, right?

Can you imagine this scenario...Brett wants to come back, but not to just any team. The Pack don't want him in the NFC, so they trade him to an AFC team. Some of whom I think might seem like a good fit could be the Bills, Jets, Dolphins, Ravens or Chiefs. Those are just the QB needy teams in the AFC, but some also in the NFC might be Falcons, Panthers(if Delhomme is not 100%), Bucs(Gruden can't have enough QBs), or 49ers.

What's to keep those teams from turning around and trading him to the Vikes(or Bears)? They could give the Pack say a 4th(except the Ravens who might sacrifice a 5th and 7th), then ship him to the Vikes for a 3rd. Brett could go to a contender(in division no less) and the Pack would be screwed PR wise.
They could make that part of the trade, whoever trades for him wouln't be able to retrade him. Although with the salary cap, they probably couldn't do it anyway if a new contract was part of the trade.

I thought this was cute

Favre told reporters not to ask him about a possible comeback.... talk about reverse psychology.

If I were the Packers I'd hold on to his rights then wait to see if a team is willing to make a trade.

I wonder if Favre is doing his regular off season workouts. He probably keeps himself in shape, but is he doing his normal off season routines. Does that include any type of film study? I have no idea of what his typical off season entails, but I wonder how much this off season differs. Hopefully he comes back and is not fully prepared for the season.

Does Farve really need to come back and fail in the playoffs one last time?

The way he is treating the Packers is pretty disgusting, not that I even care about the Packers. Brett retires, the Pack move on planning on going with Rodgers, they even draft two more QB's to add competition and fill out the roster, then 2 weeks before TC, Farve gets the itch for his 4th last season victory lap around Lambeau. What a prick.

First off, heard Aaron Rodgers say that in his first season with the Packers that Favre not only won't help him but barely willing to speak to him. I guess the situation improved in the 2nd year and he was evenly invited to Favre's home. So if I'm Aaron Rodgers, there's absolutely no way I resign with the Packers after the 09 season if Favre returns to start for them.

Also it's fine to take for granted Favre will have another good season in 08 since he had one in 07. Reality is that he's one year older & even the great Favre's arm at some point could lose some accuracy.

Finally, someone suggested Favre come to Dallas as coach/backup to Romo. Wants he going to teach Romo? How to play recklessly and toss lots of INTs; guess he could teach him how to win a playoff game but 1 SB win in his long career isn't what I'm hoping for from Romo. Frankly Romo is good enough to win multiple SBs & I expect that from him. This season is his 3rd and I really expect him to step up even more then 07.

Meh to the Farve Carnival.

Misspelling intentional...

Damn right. Ill stop mispelling his name the second he stops being such a ridiculous drama queen. There has been some Brett Farve created drama for the past couple of off seasons. From the continual 'will he' 'wont he' crap to his whining about not getting Randy Moss. I'll venture to say that the only thing Farve loves move that football is himself.

I agree. A year older does not mean a year better. He may not return to his back to back poor years of 2005 and 2006, but he probably won't match 2007, either.

Brett Favre reportedly sent Packers GM Ted Thompson a text message over the weekend.

The text's content is unknown, but Thompson replied that he is on vacation and the two could speak later, according to WTMJ-Milwaukee. Thompson has also ignored calls from Favre's agent and sent an intermediary to talk to Favre at his Mississippi home. Thompson can avoid Favre all he wants, but if Brett requests to be taken off the retired list, Thompson must grant his wish.

I think that TTs vacation plans are typically to spend a week at Bum Phillips ranch. You would think he might think give up a few days of roping cattle and get his butt back to GB and figure this mess out.

That or TT has no idea how To Text. I guess he could type "U R NOT QB @ GB. AR IS QB. UR BFF TT."

I wouldnt give up my vacation over Brett Farves silly whims. The season starts soon, the time for vacation is now.

Silly Ted Thompson, not keeping his summer open incase poor Bretty needs another dose of media whoration.

Its really simple.

Brett has done some AMAZING things in his career as a NFL QB.
Brett has singlehandedly cost his team games... BIG GAME in the playoffs WHEN IT COUNTS THE MOST.

This is understood by McCarthy and TT and even fans and analysts.

He DOESNT give the Packers the "best chance to win"

Neither does Aaron Rodgers.
