There is definitely an advantage to the Thanksgiving game for having a ten day layoff, but it is balanced by the disadvantage of having only 4 days to prepare for the Thanksgiving game.

That is exactly what I was about to post. No one is talking about the short week to prepare and get over the game on the previous Sunday.
