Well, it's poorly worded, but it's kind of true. It's the same reaction I had when someone mentions Ray Rice or Junior Galette -- eh, I think we've reached capacity on players with baggage for one offseason.

True. And King is one of the better, more in-depth football journalists going.

But he's already admitted to being wrong about Gregory having character issues re: his mental issues.

And Hardy? Dude is a straight up turd

You scared me with this line. I thought for a second we signed this imbecile.

It is one thing to be an off-the-field liability, but Hardy at least garners respect from his teammates, unlike Galette.

Dude I thought the same thing!!

Well, Peter King, what does that say about the Saints' organization which signed this 'turd' to an $18M cap hit for this year and next year even knowing everything about him including his fight with a teammate in preseason and his bad locker room presence and the video?

Yeah, Peter King, what does that say about Saints GM Loomis, Saints HC Payton, and Saints DC Rob Ryan?

It would be hilarious watching Galette sign with the NYG or Patriots. That would be priceless. Almost as much fun as Peter King meeting Galette for an interview after calling him a 'turd.'

I had that thought when I saw talk about Galette to the Cowboys; however, when I stopped to think about it, who are the bad characters on the team?

Hardy? He had the 1 incident that I know of and was very well liked by teammates. He is reported to be a hard worker, just a little bit of an unusual personality.

Rolando McClain? He seems like the only possible locker room "turd" that I can recall and he has no clout on the team per se.

Randle? His issues seem fairly minor and he has yet to develop any status to be an influence in the locker room.

In the past the Cowboys had "leaders" with strong influence in the locker room that were "turds". TO and Jay Ratliff quickly come to mind.

The bigger problem with TO and Ratliff was that there were very few players that would/could stand up to them. Romo and Witten stood up to TO, but many others took TO's side like Crayton, etc.. Now the team is overstocked with RKGs and any "Turds" are unlikely to have much influence.

This team's identity has become centered around the OLine and all of those guys are RKGs. That seems obvious with Tyron, Fred, Martin and Free. I recently heard some discussion about how Ron Leary is a very focused professional and was the only player that anybody can remember in a long time that showed up in a suit and tie the first time he came to the Cowboys facility. La'ell Collins and his mother were very impressive at his intro press conference. The list of RKGs is long.

IMO, the "Turd" quota for the Cowboys might be at an time low. During the Wade Phillips years, it was stacked with both Mega-Turds like TO and a huge number of mid level turds with a huge sense of entitlement. Mid level turdism would be guys like Crayton or even Marion Barber (remember his refusal to adhere to Garrett's dress code for traveling?). There were a bunch of other players, but I won't mention names because fans get upset if you call out certain players. I spent a lot of time at training camp back then and it becomes obvious which guys have attitude/entitlement issues. I had also spent a lot of time at training camp back in the early nineties and the guys in the Wade years had a bigger sense of entitlement and were way less fan friendly than back when they had mega-stars that had won Super Bowls. If you observed the teams, especially around the hotel and their interactions with fans, you would swear that the Wade teams were the ones that had won multiple Super Bowls based on their attitudes.

Has this guy been suspended any games?
Though charges were dropped or none were made. Can't remember which.
But he is on video using a belt on a women. That has been proven all dictator Goodell needs. He has used less evidence to suspend Hardy 10 games, later to be reduced.

So does he have any suspensions to serve?
I bet if Kraft or Mara signed him, it would be zilch......

You know if New England had drafted Gregory, King would have written a 5 page article on how much smarter Belichick is than the rest of us and what terrific value he was in the 2nd round. Hell, I bet he would have called Gregory terrific value if the Pats would have taken him at the end of the first.

King would be telling us all how much Belichick was going to help Hardy resurrect his career and what a great contract they gave in paying Hardy by the game.

And Lord help if New England would have drafted Byron Jones. King would already have him lined up for presidential election after his football days were over.

Peter is nothing if not predictable.

For real. My first thought was, "Wait, we signed Junior Gallette?"

I actually think it would be a good football move to pick up Gallette. I'm much less concerned about off the field issues affecting play on the field the most, though. But whether rightful or not, the public perception is that we've picked up a lot of questionable guys recently, and it takes a toll from a PR perspective at some point. One more guy would break the camel's back, I think, and it would be a PR nightmare. Some times that kind of thing can just be an added nuisance that maybe isn't worth the benefit of the player.

I'm surprised that he had any room left after his 7 cups of Columbian-swiss-mocha-triple-creamy-continental-expresso-Arabica-breakfast blend-caramel-doocheosa that he slurps down every day before sunup and his two dozen egg white el grande cheese and chili omelette.

Hardy I get, but I wouldn't dare call Gregory or Collins turds. That'd be pretty premature judgement. I think Gregory is a good kid just young and made a few unwise decisions but not like he was hurting anyone, frankly what he got in trouble for is legal in a growing number of places. Smart, no, but not "turd" worthy. Collins hasn't done a thing wrong that we know of. So that means we acquired a grand total of one turd. Did Miami reach their "turd quota" the day they signed Suh? Do the Pats have their quota yet? A cheating head coach, a cheating QB, a TE that committed multiple murderers, Talib (a notorious for "turdiness"), and Blount (who sucker punched a Boise state player in the handshake line). I'd say our turd collection actually pales compared to most.

Hardy may indeed be a turd off the field, but it's incredibly unfair and ignorant to lump Gregory, who by all evidence is a fine and upstanding young man, along with him.
