I was listening to Voch the other day. He had an interview with McDonald. The player said Quinn wants to use him like he uses Parsons. The draft room will be divided in my opinion. Some will want to improve the defense and others want the offense. The problem is I think Jerry wants the tight end.
They aren't drafting defense this yr unless it's a blicking light. Pauline just came out today says they are making late calls on the receivers, they are looking at all the TE's, where I just found out Kincaid is also a 30 visit. I'm thinking TE, WR, OL, RB in the first 4 rds, in any order.

I want Mcdonald so bad,he might be better than some other pass rushers going ahead of him.
Especially in Quinn’s system. I don’t think we have a 2nd pass rusher. Lawrence is a run stopper now and Sam has some off field questions.

I love Pauline. Where is he at? Thanks for the information. Pauline has a legitimate source inside the Star.

At what point do the coaches have a serious input into the stacking process. Does the process start with McClay's team analysing and grading (or discussion on organisational wants/desires)?
Not saying the coaching staff would have opposing views, but as its MM's job on the line and he's calling offensive plays I agree he'd want offensive weapons.

If this is true MM has the best poker face in the league but the Joneses continue to undermine him.
Just think about this for 1 second:

-if OL starts best 5 they are real good, just need a backup plan for Tyron.
-already have a #1 rb in their eyes with Pollard if healthy
-just lost Shultz, their 2nd receiving option and Brown their 3rd receiving option
-added Cooks, but want to add another

Just look at their offseason, they brought back their entire defense outside of Barr/Brown, but added Gilmore. They lost Zeke, Shultz, McGovern, Brown on offense, determining they weren't good enough or were overpaid. This points to offensive reinforcements coming in the draft this yr.

I get the plan but the Joneses basically outlined it with two interviews. We will be a passing team if this is what we are doing.

While I think we're pretty good at CB and could always do a late season addition of say Anthony Brown if we're hit with injuries...I'd have a hard time not getting excited with that pic

Just think about this as well:

One can’t stay healthy. One is returning from injury. Two will be FA’s. Two are near the ends of their careers. One is never going to maximize his development if we don’t let him settle on a position.

They Cowboys are not going to draft based solely on best case scenarios and how players will impact the team in 2023. They must address OL soon and IMO, that is not accomplished by looking for backups.

That's what they have been doing the last several years, drafted two starters and developed a 3rd as an unrestricted fa. They must continue to add resources, but doesn't mean they have to use 1st round picks every year to draft starters.

Never said 1st round pick...I prefer 2nd.

You can likely get Vegas odds on the week Tyron will be hurt. Steele is going to want his money. Biadasz is going to want his money. Martin and Tyron don’t have many years left and they have both been our OL cornerstones. Edoga should be a career backup. Do you feel confident we are prepared for those eventualities with our remaining players?

There will likely be a player in the 2nd who can step in Day 1 to fill one guard spot for years. We are set at LT with Tyler. We can decide on Biadasz & Steele later. If signed, those positions are solid moving forward but it will cost a few dollars. If not signed, we have a new hole or holes next year. Tyron doesn’t have much left in the tank and Martin has maybe 3 years left.

And it’s nice to have position flexibility but we need to let Tyler settle on a position. If they want him to be a guard, fine. But IMO, kicking him around to fill holes isn’t doing him any favors with his early development.

In a perfect world, OL is good for 2023. Beyond that, all bets are off. You can start preparing now or wait and hope for health, longevity, and a nice Cowboys hometown discount…IMO.

You are kidding right? Porter is a dog,he will go well before 26.
I like Porter, but I don't see how he helps us this year.

I think Diggs and Gilmore are going to be excellent for us.

And I don't like the Eagles getting Gibbs.

Although I don't think this is realistic especially the Giants taking Mayer with Waller and Bellinger.
