Peterson or Gilmore?

Now knowing the cost, which cornerback would you have acquired?

My hunch is they probably thought Peterson would be around later in FA. I bet they were interested but under estimated when he would get offers or signed. They absolutely would do that salary. I do think they actually got the better corner. Gilmore was on a terrible team, and played at his usual level.

To be honest we aren’t likely to miss out on much with a comp 5th. We certainly aren’t getting a Gilmore or Peterson with that pick. More likely to be camp fodder.

We literally just got Bland and Clark in the 5th round.

Draft picks have value.
Which is why we can afford to get rid of one of our 5ths. If they want another 5th they can easily trade back into it. Let’s not act like it’s a first rounder.

I am OK with the trade for Gilmore. We had to do something as Diggs won't tackle and isn't gonna show up for training camp. The Peterson deal is the kind of deal I would sign all day long. 2 year deals for proven starters at a reasonable price for very little risk. That is how quality teams are made.

Way I see it older players the shorter they are around the better, especially some other teams cast-offs. 1-2 years for an aging vet is probably all I would go eventually the wheels fall off, the question is when.
