I just want to make a statement here and see who agrees or disagrees with it. I beileve in pads Adrian Peterson is the fastest man in the NFL. Did you see how fast he was on his very first run of the afternoon. He gets into open field and no one can catch him. I know in street clothes there are guys faster but what GM's and scouts fail to realize is how much slower does a player get with 10-15 pounds of pads on you. I remember what they said about Irvin, he ran 4.6 in street clothes and 4.6 in pads. I really feel this is a aspect that does not get enough attention in the combines.Thats just my opinion.

Every time he touched the ball today I cringed. I cant remember a player that I felt like that for before. He is the real deal. I beileve durabilty and health will be his biggest obstacles. This guy only needs an inch and he turns it into miles.

Last note, if we had Peterson and Wade was platooning him after leading the league in rushing, tds etc we, including myself, would be going absolutly absurd at that decision. I understand the durabilty thing and from an outsiders point of view I can see some good to that. But, if I was a Vikings fan I know I would want to see APete carry it 25 times a game. If he got the ball 25x a game over a 16 game schedule he would get 2000 no problem. The sky is the limit for him.

Absolutely not.

He IS fast, but not the fastest. Have you ever seen Dante Hall or Devin Hester with the ball in their hands?

He has deceptive speed. He's a big guy and he runs so upright, it's almost like he's strolling. He's also very fast in changing gears from a jog to a sprint. It seems like it only takes him a step to crank the speed all the way up and blow past people after jogging to find a hole.

He's going to be a good one if he can stay healthy and his coach gives him the ball.

Rack, Dante Hall lost all of his speed, thats why KC cut him. I know he ran that kick back on us but earlier in the season I beileve it was Chad Greenway ran him down from behind in open field. Hes still elusive but hes 35 I think now and lost a step.

I dont know guys Peterson looks awful fast. Maybe its me but I was just seeing your opinions.

i agree. maybe hester is faster but Adrian Peterson is a blur. he hits top speed in NO TIME. its really incredible. i was glad he kept gettin taken out the game. good job Childress. :lmao2:

Basically, Hester is the Flash.

Peterson is Superman right now.

The guy is scary good. And it isn't so much his speed as his acceleration that is scary. Give him a split second to get going and he makes you pay.

Pretty sure KC traded Hall to the Rams, not cut him.

Either way, AP is not the fastest man in the NFL with pads on.

Anyone who's been watching Big XII football for the past 3-4 years knows that AP is the real deal. What makes him dangerous is not his open field speed but how fast he hits the hole and gets in the backfield.

Fastest man in the nfl......nope

Fastest from standing still to 3rd gear inside a 10 yd Line of Scrimage Zone---could very well be......

Cowboys adjusted very well after that 1st drive........Something the Bears with Briggs and Urlacher couldnt do?

If the Vikes ever get a QB behind center, and some receivers, they will be tough, very tough.........They shoulda traded for Warner, Schaub etc......

would be in the hunt in that division

Send them Brad Johnson for a draft pick. ha ha

On one run, he got to the edge so fast that our LBer, (James I recall) had this look like "what am I supposed to do about that?"

Peterson did look fast to me. I doubt he is the fastest man in the NFL but he sure does get to the second level in a hurry.

I'm not sure about the "in his pads" thing... but "pound-for-pound" he may be the fastest, that's for sure.

I'll say this I think the guy is an outstanding RB and I'm proud that the Cowboys defense was able to keep him in check for most of the day for a season low in yardage.

Childress is doing the right thing. The guy is a rookie. He is not used to this level of pounding and contact, and he is not used to playing 20 games.

If you were the coach, AP would not finish the season.

Childress should get a job as a defensive coordinator after the Vikings wise up and fire him.

He's the only coach in the league who knows how to shut Peterson down.

Shut down Peterson ??

He leads the NFL in rushing as a rookie.

Despite that idiot Childress' best efforts.

12 carries?

Pure genius.......

Yeah, let's 'preserve the rookie' while we go 5-11 for the season.

:lmao:

He leads the NFL in rushing, I repeat, he leads the NFL in rushing, what are you even talking about?

He is not the reason they may go 5-11. In case you didn't notice, they have no QB.
