Peyton Hendershot comments about the Cowboys

Just proves how mentally weak those ex-players truly are! How would you not like to be a Dallas Cowboy and have the limelight on you? That's the best exposure to make as much money as possible.
LOL, mentally weak? Those ex cowboy players go to teams with a football culture and win. The Cowboys are a marketing team that doesn't win. Winners want to win not be in a circus.

No one is defending Jerry. I did not read every posts fully either. But, it is easy to say Things like that if you are on a winning team, and are playing in the SB.

It is like changing employers. You aren’t going to tell your new place, this place sucks compared to where I came from.
Well....except he's not having to hold himself back from saying "this place sucks compared to where I came from"

He's having to hold himself back from saying "thank G*d I'm at a real organization now that isn't completely dysfunctional, because where I just came from SUCKED EGGS and is a complete joke run by a buffoon".

But you can see the vibe from him... he was lost, and now is found.

The Cowboys are the desert he was wandering through,....and the Chiefs are the lush paradise he finally reached.

He wanted to say THE COWBOYS SUCK compared to where I'm at now...but he was professional about it

Cole Beasley was in freezing Buffalo saying the same thing.

I don't think these guys really dislike the spotlight culture in Dallas. It's just that they eventually learn what a serious organization looks like when they leave.

Win? Not thanks to them still being bench warmers.

Hendershot is just riding the Chiefs bandwagon, what has he done there..? Probably next year he'll be somewhere else..

LOL. OK. The Kelce/Taylor Swift relationship and the NFL feeding off of that to milk income from the largest money making demographic that exists (teen girls) is about as extracurricular as you can get.

Wrong ,Tyler biadasz, Dante Fowler, Dorance Armstrong, started for Washington and played in the NFCCG. Hendershot is on a team playing in the Superbowl. He will still get a ring if they win.
Hello. We are talking about starters who win Super Bowls. Hendershot is still the bench warmer he was when he was here. He shouldn't be talking because he was all suits wearing limelight seeker with Ferguson when he was here, yet never started.

Taking devil's advocate here, just food for thought, but the "he's one in a long line of players who have said the same thing" brings up the question - why hasn't one or more of the "long line of players" put his foot down and tried to change the culture?

I remember Irvin saying after a game loss some players came up to him and said not to worry about it, their check would be there Tuesday (or whatever day they got paid).

The next year Irvin went to Jimmy and had a list of players that he felt didn't want to win badly enough and should be let go. And I know, he played for Jimmy so he had that relationship, but at some point, the players, who have to put the effort into winning, should have enough gumption to stand up and make the effort.

Not necessarily my view, but to place all the blame on the owner and coaches seems an easy way out....

Like I have said before, the Cowboys are not a football team. They are a marketing organization who happens to work in the realm of football. It's never about football in Dallas - it's always about something else.
Sad to say it wasn't like that initially. Remember Jerry's "We want to win. We will win. Winning is the name of the game". Certainly Jimmy felt that way.
Not to say that Jerry wasn't saying that because he knew a successful team would make him more successful/richer, but at least it gave the players the impression that winning was what the Dallas Cowboys was all about.

I really think the death knell for the NFL is the now-legalized gambling, too many people follow the NFL because they can get rich off it with gambling....

I'm not saying Hendershot is wrong, because he's not. But what does it say about him that he couldn't see the field on such a terrible team. He was a bench warmer here. P.S.....Peyton, be a man and shut your mouth.
Could be sour grapes, he couldn't gain the main tight end job so he's blaming that on the "culture".

You never know...
