Darn.......I thought this was premium info. Started typing before checking :banghead: but it's open to all site visitors.

1. Eagles......They are ranked the best but penalties were an issues last season. They had 44 as a unit, tied for most in the league
Best Player: Lane Johnson...he set the standards for right tackles. Has allowed a sack since 2020

2. Browns....According to PFF they underperformed last season but the pieces are there for them to be as good as any unit in the game
Best Player: Joel Bitonio.....he finished the season as PFF ALL-Pro at LG. Only allowed one sack

3. Chiefs......They overhauled both tackles positions, with Donovan Smith at LT and Jawaan Taylor at RT. Smith allowed 6 sacks last season.
Best Player: Creed Humphrey.....didn't give up a sack all season. Considered the best Center in the league behind Kelce. Still on rookie contract

4. Ravens.....With just 24 penalties last season, this was the least penalized OL in the league during the regular season.
Best Player: Ronnie Stanley.....returned from a long injury layoff last season but is still an elite LT
5. Lions..........Interior was a revolving door with several problems but the return of LG Halapoulivaati Vaitai will be huge for this unit.
Best Player: Frank Ragnow ( center )......Sewell is the real deal but Ragnow is as good as any center in the league. Only allowed one sack last season.

6. Cowboys......Dallas gets multiple players back from injury, even with the specter of getting hurt is never far from Tyron Smith. Dallas OL begin last season
with the same ranking but injuries caused it to slip but the talent belongs this high.
Projected Starting Lineup
  • LT Tyron Smith
  • LG Tyler Smith
  • C Tyler Biadasz
  • RG Zack Martin
  • RT Terence Steele
Best Player: Zack Martin .......arguably the best guard in the NFL while Quenton Nelson was at his best but now it's no longer an argument. He's the most dominant player at his position. A mindblowing stat .......he has reached more Pro Bowls ( 7 ) than he has received career holding penalties ( 6 )

7. Falcons

8. Packers

9. Chargers

10. Colts

I think we maybe ranked a bit too high, but 6-10 could be interchangable.

now, eagles at 1, I believe they have a really good OL.

Straight line to the start...at present, the top 3 teams projected to make the playoff road, are San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Dallas. NFC

Above, the line for the 49's doesn't receive credit now. Important? I'm curious.
Then Philadelphia, I'm feeling good about the Cowboys defense being able to handle them
Defense caved in the 4th and they were the big reason we lost 2 years ago. But I do agree we can handle them better. The offense and Oline is my biggest concern. Have the Cowboys done enough to be better than the Niners and Eagles in the NFC? I cant say that they have. Unless we are going to win with defense. But its not like the niners went nuts last year on our defense.

Cowboys haven’t shown they can draft linemen outside of drafting in the first round. That’s a big issue there.
I don’t really know if I would say that. Even if we only look at recent years they managed to draft Connor Williams, Biadasz, McGovern, and even picked up Steele as an UDFA. Williams was one of the best centers in the NFL last season, Biadaz has turned into a league average starter. McGovern was an adequate spot starter and was just signed by Buffalo and is likely to complete for a starting job there, and Steele is a borderline pro bowl tackle with even more upside. There’s a lot to like there.

They just simply have not picked a ton of offensive linemen in the later rounds over the last few seasons.

Williams wasn’t that here though so either it’s a development issue or a personnel issue. To me McGovern never became a legit starter so hard to really be impressed with that. I’m not judging them for those picks though. It’s the other guys like Josh Ball we haven’t see much progression.

I was sharing parts of paid content this morning in a new post. Not sure if my oversharing got it deleted. I've seen others share paid content Rules are too vague imo on how and what to share for paid so I gave up sharing. Do you know? Maybe I'll try again.

I pretty much agree with this, i think our line (like many other lines) struggled against the best Dlines because we dont change anything to overcome that strength...I'm hoping this changes this year... you dont need 5 1st round draft picks on the Oline for an offense to work.
IMO, Dallas' biggest change to the line was coaching. Hopefully its an upgrade. There were lots of critics of Philbin here last year and now that he is gone, they seem to have disappeared.

Williams was a fine starter here. Not what he’s become in Miami, but definitely adequate.

I get your point though. I guess what I’m trying to say is take a look around the league and I think you might find that most teams don’t consistently hit a bunch of slam dunks with mid-late round picks at any position, including OL.

6th? I would be thrilled if they are anywhere close to that. This team would be dangerous if true!

I never would have guessed Cleveland was a Top 3.

It's pretty hard to have a Top 3 OLine and still be a bad team. Quote an accomplishment!

Cowboys Oline finished 18th or 19th overall last year. How are they suddenly the 6th best to start the 2023 season? Just because someone wishes it to be so? What a bunch of malarkey. PFF is a joke.

There is a reason why Joe Philbin was finally fired, and it's because the Oline digressed under his watch.

They just did 2 months ago.

Year before that they nailed Matt Waletzko in the 5th.

Year before that they nailed Matt Farniok in the 7th.

3 years in a row they drafted OL's outside the 1st and all 3 could eventually be starters.

Their line wasn’t their strongest suit last year.

See: Trey Lance’s Ankle, Jimmy Garoppolo’s foot, Brock Purdy’s elbow, Josh Johnson’s cranium

Also, they lost Mike Mcglinchey in FA, one of their best Olineman; as well as Daniel Brunskill who was their “6th man” iOL with 42 starts at C/RG over the last 4 years

I’ve seen nothing to suggest those guys are starters other than the optimism of a few posters on this site.

When healthy the cowboys OL is pretty good but how many games will they all be healthy? The real question is who's available and how well are they playing late in the year into the post season.
Even at their worst they have been above average every year since 2014
And of course, at their best they have been top 5 or top...1

I think the Eagles OL will take a little hit this year. They are still good but not as good as they were last season.
They actually have a big hole at RG. They drafted one in the 3rd round who was a T in college. They are evidently sky high in Kelce's replacement who was going to play guard this year but you can't have an undersized C with a very undersized G next to him. It could be a major problem.

I know a lot of people are high on Cam Jurgens but I am not one of them. He had a really good combine and his stock shot way up, but he is not Jason Kelce. When Kelce retires and Jurgens takes his place I think the Eagles will miss Kelce a lot.

LOL........Nailed Walenzko? Nailed Farkiok? Both are currently nothing but scrubs. Farniok going on 3 years and Walenko with his rookie year a complete washout.

Could eventually be starters? Is that a fantasy?
