I am not nor am I ever concerned about the Cap. I'm firmly team "the cap is a myth" and the Cowboys are perfectly capable of using that to their advantage, either competitively or in negotiations.

The biggest concern this offseason will bethe offensive line. Tyron Smith and Biadasz are free agents. I give Zach Martin a 50/50 chance of retiring. Steele underperformed all year and it's past just blaming that on the knee. Draft and free agency should both be in scope for those guys.
Should be and should have been last year. Maybe we will draft a lineman in the 5th round again.

Jerry will resign Tyron Smith, and sign a mid lever free agent to patch it together.

Lol, the upside could be huge. Regardless, the team is in position to win.
Upside of what?

Dak will be extended. Trey will have another year of no experience. We will not pick up his 5th year option in 2025 for $25M. He will be a free agent. He wants an opportunity to start. That will not happen in Dallas.

It was a dumb wasted move by Jerry and we will be looking for a legitimate back up in 2025, when we already had one with Rush. So we will most likely have to use another 4th round pick to look for and develop a back up QB.

Yes, and Trey will be gone the following year. So what was the point of signing him again?

We will not pay Trey $25M in 2025
Well yea trading for him was stupid but that's not really the point as it relates to paying Rush next year at this point lol

Well in the NFL it is usually easy to figure out the the pecking order by salary. Jerry is not going to continue to embarrass himself by leaving Trey as the emergency QB at $5M and Rush at $2.2M. Rush most likely will be released to save $1.6M.

Releasing Rush saves $2.25

But yea, that's why I mentioned him...

$650K dead money. Have to account for his signing bonus.

So we had a perfectly fine experienced back up QB and traded for a 4th and $5M+ for what up side?

Watch him in the preseason games next year. Then we will see what we have.

I understand that and he may very well be talented. Regardless of how well he does we will not pick up his 5th option at $25M. If he plays phenomenal maybe we get back out 4th round pick and can dump his $5M salary in a trade - best case scenario. He will more than likely be a free agent at the end of the year and wants to be a starter. So unless he completely plays like crap in preseason and becomes content with a long term back up role, then he will be gone.

If he plays amazing we will not cut Dak after resigning him to a $200M+ deal. We will also not have a $25M back up. So there is really nothing to wait and see for.

Howie Roseman, the GM who never played a down of football, and only got the job because he is buddies with the owner. Is that the bright GM you are referring to? Eagle drafts have been awesome, haven't they? How about those great signings of WR Julio Jones and LB Shaq Leonard.

Other than manipulating the cap to kick Hurts' guaranteed money into the late option years, what has Howie done well? Found a few suckers willing to make idiotic trades?
I'm not an Eagle's fan at all, but I wished we had their GM who has attempted to help that club get better by signing FAs down the stretch, as JJ sat on his hands and did nothing to help his team plug those wide-open holes in the middle of the D-Line. If the Boys had a legit GM then maybe, just maybe our defense would be able to stop an opponent's running attack that is GOING to hurt this club in the playoffs. Also, those FAs that you mentioned in your post are the same FAs that Cowboy Posters were begging JJ to sign in hopes that they could help the Boys in their run to the playoffs. Think about this, as bad as the Eagles have been and they have reeked down the stretch run, they only finished one game behind the Boys who struggled against the teams that the Eagles beat! Hopefully, Quinn has a plan to shutdown down our opponent's running attack or it could be a quick exit out of the playoffs.

We are better than the Eagles and have one of the best rosters in the league that was built by our front office.

$2,875,000 - $625,000 = $2,250,000

I'm not an Eagles fan at all, but if Howie was signed as the Cowboy's GM tomorrow you and the rest of the Cowboy HOMIES would be praising this dude from the high heavens.............LOL!!!!!!! This dude has been moving and grooving in the draft and making stupid deals with those so-called suckers while Cowboy homies like yourself are probably bald by now from pulling out what hair you have on your head because our GM refuses to seek out those same suckers and make great deals to help to defuse our opponent's running attack. Our GM is WASTING valuable draft picks on players like Mazi or Schoonmaker, a TE when the Boys already had Ferguson and Hendershot, two very reliable TEs on their roster.
