Game ball to Trevon Diggs! PFF has historically graded him wrong and unfairly. Well, they got it right this week. It was a hell of a week for the secondary.

This was our super hero's worst game of the year. Micah graded out at 54 for those interested.

Top Defensive performers:

1. Trevon Diggs 91.4 (!!)
2. Donavan Wilson. 81.9
3. Hooker 74.2
4. Brown 72.1
5. LVE 69.9. He did tackle very well. His tackling grade was 81. They are not grading where he makes the tackle. Nobody offers stats that sophisticated. A tackle 10 yards down field shows up on the stat page the same way a tackle made 1 yard beyond the LOS.

Top Offensive Performers

1. CD Lamb. 75.4
2. Steele 72.0
3. Noah Brown 69.9
4. Zach Martin 67.9
5. Zeke. 64.0

How has Biadasz been rated? Since he isnt getting hammered every week I have to assume he is doing well. And since Farniok isnt being hailed as the next great center I have to also assume he continues to do poorly.

PFF still doesnt like Tyler Smith, which I get

He has been holding his own. He is at a point there we can win with him at LT. But there is a still a long way to go before he is in the convo of quality LT's

PFF has him as the 45th ranked OT. He is not really excelling at anything. His performance is what you might expect from a rookie who got no reps in TC or preseason at OT. He is winging it and learning as goes. But, Tyron will be a big upgrade when he comes back and I expect Tyler to slide back to G and Peters to be the swing tackle.

If you believe in PFF grades.

I do in some positions more than others. OL they tend to get right. I think they suck at CB, RB, and WR. The big play positions b/c they don't weight big plays enough as part of the grade. Their top grades at OL positions over the course of the season tend to mirror the all-pro and pro bowl teams

So then Steele out played Martin on Sunday?

No.

No.

The grading gets adjusted through weds. The first guys reviewing the tape gave the nod to Steele. But the margin is closing. Zach's grade just got upgraded to 70. I can't edit. So, its now 1.5 point difference which is negligible.

But they use the same grading system. If they suck for one position, how are they better for another?

Can you give the grades for all our OL this game?

Playing Peters at LT and Tyler at LG just makes too much sense.

Tyler would be ELITE at LG Instead of just average-good at LT.

Well, a WR, for example, can drop everything for 3 quarters but if they lay out for a game winning TD, did they have a bad game? PFFs grading system does not have a way to adequately account for big plays. Big plays are rare for OL, for example, so their grading scale is truer for them. If a CB gives up a 10 yarder on 3rd and 15, the CB gets dinged in their system. Thats not fair. So, if Trevon gives up easy passes all game but comes up with a game winning INT, the PFF grade will be quite poor. Get it?
