PFF: Pollard's pass protection against Bucs was better than Zeke's

Umm.. that's what the back is supposed to do in blitz pickup. The line can't account for every blitzer so the back is suppose to stay in and help. Pollard may as well have just yelled "Look out!!" for all he did on those plays. Anyone who watched the game could see it. I'm sure he can do better.. but there is no way around the fact that on Sunday he was terrible..

Didn’t see Zeke in on many 3rd down plays?

Yeah it looked as though they were making a concerted effort to have Pollard be the 3rd down back. And it backfired terribly. His man, the blitzing LB, sacked Dak twice and was a half step away on two others. I didn't notice Zeke on pass protection... which generally speaking is a good thing. It means his man did not clobber the QB.. We noticed Pollard because his man did.. I have never put much stock in PFF and stuff like this is why. Any attempt to claim Pollard was anything above abject failure in pass pro this game must be summarily dismissed.

INB4 this thread is locked/cleaned.

I can't say I agree with that grade.

Unfortunately a bunch of dimwits believe it.
not as many dimwits as believe what the MSM puts out daily

NOW as regards Pollard's pass protection it sucked like pretty much everything else he did that game.

The Pollard lovers are almost as pathetic as the Jerry lovers

I thought Pollard/Zeke blocking was ok. What I saw was TB blitzing more than two on almost every play and making the RBs choose and the OL not picking up the second guy.

For giggles, folks can discuss the RB blocking, but neither did a bad job.

I’m going to start ending all my posts with the word Muffin. Maybe I can save this thread.
I thought Pollard made the right reads but lacked the power of Elliot. What do you think, Muffin?

If only we could talk about how explosive and awesome Zeke is instead of his blocking ability in comparison to Pollard. I suppose this is all that tubby has left. It is what it is. I thought his receiving stats could never get worse than he was last year. So far 1 reception for -3 yards. Zeke always proving me wrong. Imagine if he finishes the year with negative receiving yardage. That would truly be something.
Stop it, Zeke played very well on Sunday. In fact, he was the best offensive skill player on the team. That's not saying a lot, but he was running hard, finding and making holes, and breaking tackles. Pollard wasn't...and I like Pollard...but Zeke played much better.

PFF need to get away from stats or analytics, and simply start watching. The Eye Test never lies or distort, and when it does.....there is Eye Doctor, Laser surgery, or Lenscrafter to fix.

PFF ..... that figures.

Good luck to those who so rely on it,... instead of trusting and judging their very own eyeballs ..

I've given this example before about pff. If Tampa has 52 players out with Covid, and 20 beer vendors and 30 fans were forced to play for them. Dallas scores on every play and wins 800-0. THEN Dallas gets shut out for the next 16 straight weeks. PFF would declare Dallas had the best offense in the history of football with their 800 points. I don't know how people take them seriously.

I guess that’s why you and I don’t work for PFF
