I think those are pretty accurate too.
I thought Osa had a really solid performance. When he was out there he was disruptive, it's when he came out that Tampa really started to run well. I didn't watch Hill enough to judge. Gallimore was disappointing as was Bohanna. Parsons is unbelievable. Diggs certainly gave a lot of credence to those who said he was vastly over rated (though it's just one game). I thought LVE looked acive. Our safeties are solid.
Brown was our best WR out there. He was winning once in while, Dak just could get him the ball.
Lamb was dreadful, as was Dak. We need WRs who can win off the line, and last night was overall a dreadful performance by the position. Lamb should be ashamed of himself.

I though Zeke showed some burst I haven't seen in a long time, Pollard was just OK.
The OLine was atrocious. Farniok was dreadful, Steele and Biadasz are Jags at best, though I noticed TB was the hoghest rated Olineman. I didn;t see that for what I watched, as I was watching closely.
Smith showed promise yet still has a lot of work to do.
We were lucky Brady was off a little, that game could have easily been 31-3 or worse.

Bohanna was a disaster. He scored a 49.9 and was the worst of the DT rotation.

Uh...he was great in the actual act of....ya know....blocking. I can't think of a single time he didn't block effectively or get beat. He will clean up the penalties, which was very out of character for him.
He had lots of penalties last year as well. He hasn't apparently learned much.

Worst player of the game is no surprise to anyone who watched it. Dak gets the game razzie for worst grade. Below our the runner ups. Micah graded the highest, FYI

1. Dak Prescot 37.4
2. Anthony Brown 43.5
3 Matt Farniok. 48.7
4. CD Lamb. 51.2
5. Diggs. 54.3

Surprise performer

Trysten Hill. 81.0. (!!!!)

Farniok!! LOL

Where are all his supporters for the GREAT Farniok?

Trysten Hill has to be a fluke. Dudes been entirely useless.

I'll take it though

To think that Dallas fans are NOT frustrated with Trysten Hill or Brett Maher after a terrible loss is a staggering concept!

We gave up some long runs. Remember, PFF is grading individuals not the overall defense. We can surmise from their grades that Trysten and Osa played well most snaps. Thats all you can conclude. What the PFF grade isn't reflecting is maybe a crucial 3rd down run the defense failed to stop. That one play may impact the game far more than a first down run that got stuffed. But on the PFF grading scale, they would balance out.

You have to take any stat in the context in which it was intended.

If we're talking who played well in the run defense, the first question is just how many snaps each DT was playing on run defense.
I don't know. Though simply by player characteristics, I'd think that they wanted Hill and Osa on pass rush more than run defense. Osa is the smallest, and Hill has always been much weaker on run defense than pass rush.
Gallimore and Bohanna were graded low, and they probably were the ones playing run defense.

Noah Brown is a player you like on the roster. You just don't want him featured on offense.

Brown is the leading receiver in yards and yards/target. Blocks. Plays special teams.

Looking like a very good role player for us.

I used to be very negative on Brown. "Teeny tiny blocking TE". But now that he has grown into a productive WR, he has grown into a valuable 3rd who helps run/pass balance.

Almost 20 point improvement over last year!

I couldn't believe the hype Bohanna was getting during our preseason. A 50 wins him the Most Improved Player award. Good for him. I'll take it and like it.

My real disappointment on the dline is Gallimore. He couldn't even muster any preseason hype. He seemed like the cream of our DTs, such as they were.

Barr scored a 53.7 - not good
LVE scored a 69.6....... which was broken down this way 47.9 against the run and 84.4 against the pass.

LVE working on Comeback Player of the Year.

Led the team in tackles. In some thread accepting nominees for different awards for players, I nominated LVE for Breakout Player. After one game, he's right up there with another of my nominees, Noah Brown.

Two *good* offseason contracts.

LVE is the team's leading tackler.

He played well in coverage, in particular. I don't put a lot of stock in the total tackles raw stat b/c it doesn't tell you whether the tackle was made near the LOS or 11 yards down field. Jaylon Smith taught me that one. The guy used to lead us in tackles every season....... he was just making them too far down the field bc he was avoiding contact at the LOS. I think LVE may have some of that in him protecting his neck. His grade against the run wasn't good.

Thinking Steele is even average is probably a stretch.

People that don't follow PFF stats I think have the wrong impression of Steele. He was consistently below average last year and his ceiling is pretty low. I think the Cowboys and some fans just got excited b/c he wasn't getting whistled for a lot of pre-snap penalties. He is not an equivalent talent to La-El who was grading out at a near pro bowl level when he was healthy and playing regularly.

I thought they would give him .5 for at least one of them....like the one where Micah had his leg. No biggie, would rather give it to Micah but the point was Osa was right there very quickly.

That sack was all Micah. He had the QB on the ground and then somebody ( I forget who) fell on them.

Well that explains it...you think PFF grades are gospel.

OL is one of the areas PFF does well. Thats just a fact.
I reviewed this past game, do you happen to have their ratings for the OL?

This way I can see if I agree with the statement "OL is one of the areas PFF does well".

Like, for instance, i believe they had them rated as the best OL in the league last year. We all agree that is false.

I'm talking historically over the course of the season their OL rankings pretty much line up with the AP all-pro teams. Do you want the individual grades for our OL or do you want the OL rankings after week 1.

Individual.

I had them ranked:

1. Tyler Biadaz
2. Steele
3. Zach Martin
4. Tyler Smith
5. Farniok

Just based on play, not penalties.
