We need to keep LVE! He's a Cowboy, he's proven himself and most likely would be cheaper to keep than the other LBs on this list. ^^^^

Plus, he knows this system and won't have to skip a beat having to adjust to a new team.

Some good ones but could also be expensive. Even looking at this list, I still rather resign LVE

I think there is a huge difference with both Lve/Osa when Hankins plays. That in my opinion is the key, Lve is best as a run and hit linebacker not stacking and shedding type. Keep him clean, he can be an impact player for this defense. One thing nobody has mentioned, what happens when Quinn leaves and decides to raid our roster, players like Lve, Wilson, Brown could all follow him where he lands.

So you would def resign Hankins and LVE?

Speaking of Quinn, he's interviewing today with Broncos and Colts. I'm guessing he's back if he doesn't get an offer from one.

Everyone is so sure Quinn is leaving.

Why on this earth would he want to go to Denver. No picks. Dumpster fire at QB.

Tough decision on LVE.

I don't want to pay him huge bucks but he has gotten better and become integral to our defense. He played great against SF last year (even stopped Debo one on one in a key moment) and he will be integral this week vs them too.

Conversely, he has the neck and he hasn't always been good vs the pass in recent years...

Decisions decisions....

Remember we will probably only have Dan Quinn for another three weeks at the most. His name is on most teams' HC shortlist for a new head coach. A new coach may mean a new scheme.

If we want to win a championship then we need to complete this defense. Lavonte David would go a long way to shoring up the run defense. That guy is amazing. LVE is a jag, but would be the cheaper option. We need a legit MLB and a legit stud DT to complete this defense.

On offense we need new RB's and sure up the Oline.

I'm in disagreement with those that insist we need to keep LVE.

- He's not a pro bowler. He's not irreplaceable. he's not special. He's not a core player
At best, he's a decent, serviceable piece to which we've had many of those that come and go.

- Some here was saying the same thing with needing to keep Anthony Hitchens,
Ditto with Barry Church .. and Byron Jones.

- LVE's attention and value here went up upon his injury return, because the lack of quality depth at LB became so painfully obvious and exposed.
Barr is slow and ongoing declining, he's a JAG.

- Clark is inexperienced and looks like he has hit that typical rookie wall.
As the season wears on, we're seeing less and less encouraging plus plays from him.

- If you can get him cheap to return ..until you can get much better, he can be a band-aid until more promising superior arrivals come on the scene
Frankly i wouldn't mind doing another 1 year rental deal but i'm not for committing a long term deal to just a serviceable LB.

Hmm...

LVE led the team in tackles (9) last week during the playoff game at Tampa Bay. He also had 2 passes defensed. LVE also finished 3rd in total team tackles (54) besides missing several games late in the season due to injury (shoulder/neck stinger). LVE was leading the team in tackles prior to suffering a late season stinger. Additionally, he owns a 70.8 player grade from Pro Football Focus, and his commanding presence has allowed Micah Parsons to embrace a full-time role as a pass rusher, and done a lot to paper over Barr’s deficiencies as an aging linebacker.

Certainly sounds better than just a serviceable LB.

Very tough call for Dallas.

Ideally, you'd get LVE back on a 1 year deal but if I am LVE I am taking the largest deal I can get knowing my career is likely very short.
I type this as someone who has to get cervical cortisone shots every 24 months and played LB and safety....

So for me I feel a bit about LVE the way I did about Randy Gregory.
I hope he gets big money, just hope it isn't here.

Dallas has Clarke and Cox as young LB. They prolly need one vet but also need to develop those young guys.
I'm not drafting another LB until I adjust my profile after Cox has been so miss.

I think Quinn will take a job this offseason, as there should be several teams after him. I would definitely try to resign both, but rather have more of a long-term answer then Hankins. Team really has to invest high resources at the position, either with a veteran or a high draft pick, no more late rd fliers.

We still need to shore up that RCB starting role, imo

- i think we need two off ball LBs if we are gonna keep Parsons at DE. i'm for upgrading over both LVE and Barr.
although more so i think we need to seriously consider Parson more at off ball LB than DE role he's really playing (and taking a toll wear at) now.

- We were already trying to upgrade over Anthony Brown with the draftees Joseph and Wright, and those clearly have the look of bust picks at this point.
And Bland looks maybe to be stiff competition at the slot/3rd CB role vs Jourdan Lewis than an outside RCB replacement .

- Good luck on finding an impact, elite 3 tech, - incredibly hard to find, imo .
Hankins trade definitely helps at the 1 tech, totally heads and shoulder vs Bohanna whose a JAG.-
Hankins is due to be FA this offseason, but .it's quite likely the team will try to extend him.to a 2 year deal.

Offense:
LG, WR RB TE

Defense:
DL, CB, LB,
