Didn't mean that to be taken the way you did. The offense is the strength of this team and it was missing its strength last year. If the unit stays healthy, then it needs to lead the team into the playoffs. If it doesn't, then it doesn't matter who is running the units, it's on McCarthy.
Last year was a mulligan because of all the injury issues on offense. McCarthy is considered an offensive coach, so the offensive side of the ball is his and has to validate him as coach (even if it's Moore's offense they are running). Maybe if it fails, McCarthy would be able to convince the Joneses that it's Moore's fault and they need a new coordinator, but it's hard for an offensive-minded coach to pass the buck (although I guess Garrett managed that with Linehan).
