I had an iPhone since 2008. And 1st iPad in 2011
I dumped Microsoft crap in 2017, went to Mac. Have not regretted it. Never an issue with my Mac as I have had with numerous brands that had Microsoft ripoff bug infested slow as molasses software after their constant updates.
I have bought Apple stock off and on this 2014. Have not lost money yet.

However, I want to see what the cost and plans are. As I said in another post, I got NFL ST free 4 of the last 5 years. And supposed to get it free again this year. So maybe they will give a last minute bid to keep it.

I realize that. My comment was a bit tongue in cheek in that it seems like I regularly get a lot of small Apple charges on my account that are too small to waste the time on hold to complain. I see $4.99 for Apple Music, $.99 for extra memory, and occasional charges for movies that are usually a few bucks. Apple is quite good at being surreptitious with their charges.

However, if one has to explain a joke then it was not a good joke.

I like how you used the key word "migrate". The agents just had me make the switch last week as well. I can't phantom paying $150 for tv. All I watch are Dodger games and Cowboys games, may he an occasional Sopranos or Gunsmoke episode.

I have had DirectTv for almost 30 years because of Sunday Ticket, looks like I can finally cut the cord after next season.

I was going to go to the Stream. It would save me $70 a month. They also saved me $25 a month as I went to Fiber internet. It would have been the same cost, but somehow I qualified to get it cut in half.

But a few things as I held off going to it. To the Stream TV that is. I eventually will. But for now, will keep the dish.
As I don’t like it when bad storms of course. But no NFL ST, and what if the fiber cable goes out for some reason, then no TV at all. So this gives me time to see how often it goes out as opposed to the DSL version. Which was more than it should. Also what shows I have on DVR, I would lose them.

so they are giving me $50 off my dish service, plus said to call back and they would give me free NFL ST again. So I figure I can live with that option until after football season.

They have started small broadcasting a couple MLB games a week. You cannot see those games locally except Apple TV. I have not seen the product but have not heard one good thing about it. I heard they were going after PAC 12 sports at some point.

Lol...in addition to your list I have Apple, Disney+, Paramount+ and some other stuff my wife signed up for. I remember when everyone wanted to only pay for the channels they wanted... welp, here we are. They figured it out quickly and are maximizing their profits

All I know is that I couldn't get my apple tv to stream the games. And the apple remote was a joke. I am not buying apple anything!

That's a good idea. Have different packages. I'd like to see a package that was just for the Cowboys. I'd pay for that. I don't want to pay to have the option to watch every game every sunday. Realistically I'm not going to watch every game.

I haggle with them every time my bill goes up and usually they knock off like $50 and free HBO and Starz for 3 months and a good discount off ST. This time they said there wasn't much at all they could do.

I was looking at it from the perspective of potential customers. We already know from DirecTV's history that offering NFL Sunday Ticket does not mean substantially more subscribers. I suspect there are more potential NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers who already have Netflix or Amazon Prime than Apple TV. I have no idea how much anyone offered the NFL for their programming package. I would assume the NFL took the largest offer, but that is not necessarily good for consumers.

This article claims the NFL is working on their own streaming package called NFL+. Speculation is it will stream games too.

There is a lot of speculation but unless Apple has a plan to substantially increase its subscribers I don't see the price to come down from where DirecTV has it now.

But at this point it is all speculation. It may be a year before we get the details.

"Apple is one of the smallest streaming services out there with only about 10 million customers". That's about to change..

I figured the NFL got the one time payment, and let the company that purchased it worry about the amount of subscribers. Why would they worry about the consumer?

Did you know prior to 1977 I believe, the NFL did not air games of the home team fans. So if the Rams were playing the Vikings, you weren't getting that game in LA or Minnesota. The reason, they were afraid people wouldn't fill up the stadium.

You can see the problem here. If 60,000 fans go to the game, several million can't watch their home team play. But as long as their stadiums were filled, screw the public.

Why are you supposed to get it free? Every year I call and it’s hit and miss. I’ve probably had it free 2 of the last 5 years.

Tell me your secret. Or better yet, will you call and get it for me free too??

    Thanks in advance

Yes, I know. The NFL has a long-standing paranoia abut showing half-filled stadiums on TV. They fear if they televised the games no one would go to the stadium to watch it live. Having sat through a Giants game at the Yale Bowl one cold December Sunday I can understand the fear.
