My question is will there be a new "Roy Williams" type rule; A "no choke hold" rule we can refer to as the James Quirk rule?:D

ESPN's 1st and 10 just reported that no disciplinary action will be taken against the ref, James Quirk.

I didn't have a problem with the ref breaking up the fight. I thought he might have been a little excessive but no big deal. I did feel that as soon as Barnett was able to get free from the neck hold, he was going to turn around and swing at the culprit before he had time to realize it was an official. That would have been big trouble.

Problems with referee's.
Favre blaming the weather.
Packers should have beat the Cowboys.

Just another sore loser. They shouldn't do anything to that ref, and I'm glad they didn't.

It's pretty smart IMO.

Calling a grown man who makes millions more than you do a "boy" is a slap - to yourself, because in todays society.. you're half the man he is.

However, the "boys" filing lawsuits is hilarious - especially if it's for money, because officials can only make so much. But it's even more of a slap in the face - because officials know you can't do anything to them on the field without harsh repercussions. Now, the players are "getting even" - so to speak.

It's absolutely hilarious.

As an African-American male, I understand the racial connotation behind the term "boy."

But, if the ref said "stop acting like boys" I have no problem with that. So what if they make millions of dollars? If they're acting irresponsibly or childish, the image is that of a boy.

Nick Barnett is just embarrassed a 60-something ref put a rare naked choke on him. If this were the UFC or Pride, Barnett would have tapped out. :laugh2:

Yes, a Black person being called "Boy" by a White person will result in tempers flaring.

Too bad in this case the Ref that supposedly called him a "Boy" was black himself.

These guys cry over anything these days.

Who blamed the refs?

Weather was a factor. Just like in Cleveland the week before. Cold, WEt and miserable are great football conditions. Hurricane force winds are not.

Packers should have beat the Cowboys??? When???? The Thursday night game??? I never said that and I havent read where somebody did say that.

What else YOU got? :D:

Yes it does. It's the same as using the "N" word. It has a different meaning when used by a white person.

It has a different meaning or is it taken differently?

But that weather didn't stop Bears from scoring.

True but when you block 2 punts that 1 directly lead to a TD and the other setup a short TD that is a big help. Packers really rely heavy on the 4 and 5 WR sets and the YAC that they get after the catch. In those condition the Packers where going to be in trouble. Only reason I watched the game was because when I heard there was going to be 40 mph winds I knew the Bears and a real chance of winning that game.

That is because the Packers CANNOT run the ball. They suck at it actually. All they can do is pass. You shut the pass down and walla - WIN.

FloridaBob can be here all he wants tootin the Packer horn. It doesn't change anything.

Honestly - I find it funny the guy still trolls through. You would think the abuse would keep him away like a shunned relative.

It has a different meaning and it's taken differently. The "N" word has become a sort of affectionated word when used between blacks ... "Dis here my Nig***."

But that word has a different meaning when uttered by whites and it's also taken differently by blacks if uttered by whites.
