I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. Honeydo lists. You will understand them when or if you get married. They get longer at Holiday time. never fails that I have to peel eggs or d-bone chicken when the Packers are playing.....I think she sometimes waits for kickoff before the orders start.....

Yeah ok... when the beatdown was in full force you decided to log off.

Be honest, man.

Stop making excuses.... oh wait.... you are a PACKERS fan.

HAHAHA

Happy Holidays.:D

the official maybe should'nt have grabbed him in a headlock but officials grab players all the time to break up altercations.
he is setting himself up to not only look like an idiot but to get a ton of penalties in the future.
i would be embarresed to complain about a 60 yr old man taking me down and i'm not a nfl player.
the smart move for him would have been to thank the official for not flagging him and go on.

But I still don't understand why the ref just didn't throw a flag and/or eject the player rather than putting the guy in a headlock.

Hey, it's not that I like the Packers, and I hope the refs flag Barnett every opportunity they get (esp when we play them), but it just seems the logical thing to have done is thrown the flag sometime during the course of the game.

That's just embarrassing.

A 6-2, 230 pound, 26-year-old NFL middle linebacker, who was just crying about not making the Pro Bowl, feels the need to file a grievance because a 60-year-old fat and balding ref pulled him off the pile too hard?

:lmao2:

The score was embarrassing....................hope he didn't get a boo-boo.
Sheesh. Own it and move on.

BTW.............did he get punked? Or would we call that "fogied"? :)

Did he pull him off by the collar?
There is a rule in place for that.... its a no-no. :D

The official went a little too far but he didn't hurt Barnett so why is that pansy making an issue of it now? Waaaaa!!! A 60-year old guy pulled me off a pile... by my neck!!! Oooooh, he hurt me Mommy!!!

Typical pansy Packer. They are starting to become the whiniest team in the league making it a close race between them and the Commanders.
:lmao2:

If it had been done to a Cowboy you'd want that ref's head on a platter. Don't even try to say otherwise.

Some of you people are missing the whole issue here.

It's about respect. The refs have a big say in who wins or loses games (like it or not) and the players are suppose to show them respect at all times regardless of whether they make a bonehead call that costs a team a game.

So shouldn't the refs show the players the same respect? I don't know about you, but if I had been forced to bite my tongue regarding an officials crappy call a few times - out of respect - only to have one come call me "Boy" or grab me by the throat, well, I'd be a little upset about it.

And all the ref got was a "Don't do that again" from the moron in charge of officiating? Basically not even a slap on the wrist? Yet if the player had retaliated he'd have been suspended multiple games and fined thousands of dollars. Sorry, but that double standard doesn't fly with me.

Those refs are there for the players, not vice versa.

Not only is the officiating in the NFL getting out of hand, but the officials themselves are getting out of hand. Something needs to be done about BOTH now or it's going to get worse.

Lucky for Barnett it wasn't Ed Hochuli, otherwise it would have been a chokeslam instead of a choke hold.

Did you see the play, Rack? This wasn't at all like the "boy" incident.

And it's not like the ref just attacked the player out of the blue. He was simply pulling a guy out of the pile like happens all the time when a fight starts to break out. He was no where close to hurting Barnett.

Barnett's just a hothead who's being a baby.

This is an outrage!

Iffin that bad official hurt that pansy ash Packer I hope the players ASSociation comes down hard on that official and the NFL.

Let's protect our NFL thugs from the ruffian officials!

Yes I saw the play. Even that Pereir guy (head of officials) told that ref he was over the line. So if even his BOSS thinks he was wrong to do, maybe - JUST MAYBE - he was freakin' wrong to do it. Ya think?

And BS, that crap doesn't happen all the time. I have NEVER seen a ref pull a guy out of a pile using a chokehold. EVER.

Nick Barnett was involved in every scuffle in that game. I saw him pile on late, push guys helmet's into the ground as he laid on them and just constantly pushing and shoving after the play. I was surprised a few times that flags were not thrown for his actions. The ref may have gone a little over board, but Barnett was lucky he did not get penalized for some of his actions or even ejected from the game.

Exactly right. He was at the heart of every fight in that game. He should have been ejected, and is lucky the only thing he has to show for his stupidity and cowardice is a hilarious take down video on youtube.

No, I wouldnt. Especially if our player was acting like a giant dooshbag the way Barnett was. He was WAY out of line in that game.

In a rare Zone history moment, I agree with you, Rack. :)

Seriously that ref not only pulled him out of the pile with a choke hold, but what if he'd somehow injured himself being pulled out? Refs go into the pile all the time, but they grab around the waist. This guy basically did a take down. And if Barnett had swung or pushed him, he'd be suspended and heavily fined.

It's not about whether the player should "man" up or should be afraid because a 60 yr old man took down a 26 yr old. It's about the Ref going overboard in his efforts for which he should've gotten more than a hand slap.

Did you actually watch the game? Barnett was acting like a first class coward and punk the entire time. Any time there was a fight, it was #56 in the middle of it.

The ref taking him down was the best thing that could have happened to him. He should have been ejected.

Yes, I watched the game and I still blame the refs. Regardless of what Barnett had done earlier within the context of the game, the ref shouldn't have put his hands on him. That's the surest way to spark a lawsuit...or in this case a grievance. Say Barnett injures his knee during the process of that?

If you know a player is acting like an ***, then you tell the coach to warn him, then you give a personal foul, and then you eject. It's the ref's fault for not managing the game better so that an incident like that doesn't occur. It was obvious Barnett was acting the fool. The refs should've taken control over that and they didn't.

Players aren't supposed to put their hands on officials. And officials aren't supposed to put their hands on players, even jokingly.

So what if Barnett seriously injured a Bears player because the referee was standing around scratching his *** instead of taking the troublemaker out of the fray?
