Where did he say that? I’ve seen quotes saying the opposite?
He didn’t say it I’m saying based on how he sounds he just seems like he doesn’t care if he’s gone from here.

“Let’s face it, if you look at Brett, he had a great year. He had a bad game. But he played 22 games; he had a bad game and a half. I think everybody’s on the table. I’m proud of what Brett did here. If he gets a shot here or somewhere else, I’m sure he’ll perform well.”

Can't risk it. Once a kicker gets into his head he has the yips, he's done.
If I'm the opponent on field goals, I'm talking all kinds of smack to him.
"Good luck on that kick, Brett Norwood."

Maher was money for us all year. He got the yips but they were all on extra points I believe, is that a true statement? We definitely should have had him back imo.
But his issue was based simply off a piece of grass being put down by Anger. This simply allows him to place the ball in the proper spot.

This rule still applies.

If he wins the job for the Broncos there's a good chance that Justin Tucker's 66 yard field goal record will fall. Maher has plenty of leg, the 63 yard boot he kicked here against the eagles would have been good from 66, factor in Mile high and is chances are good to put his name in the record book.
75 yarder lol

Folk went through a phase here and went on to have some very solid years
I think the leagues crackdown on placing something under the ball got in his head. But he’s had all off season to get over it
I’d at least bring him to camp

I agree with this. I wonder if the issue isnt that Maher wants a bigger deal than what the market is willing to give him? I mean it would make sense as he points to him coming off a remarkable regular season, where as teams around the league are pushing back due to the playoff results. The guy is 33 and is yet to make 7 figures on a contract. This is his first and possibly only chance to really cash in for NFL money. If I were in his shoes I would be looking for that deal that would allow me to live comfortably for the rest of my life.

I hate the fact the Cowboys aren't signing him, at least to compete during camp. He's been a very good kicker who had some problems during a single season

BUT now kickers have an entire off-season , practices, OTAs, MCs, TC and Live PS games to adjust,

Ironic a coach like Peyton wants to give this guy a shot over their kicker from last year or any other vets our fans have named, our fans claim Mahers trash and don't want him.. hey Fans just stop let the coaches figure it out.. some of us see Maher had no issues with actual Fgs had truly One bad game. he deserves a shot at the job through competition. he did hit his lone XP and FG in the 9er game..

Fans all up in their feelings, case closed.

I don't recall Folk missing four consecutive extra points.
Sure, kickers miss field goals. But extra points? And then four in a row?
And didn't he miss the extra point against the Niners?

The rule change gave him the yips. Worst of all, it came at the worst possible time. Didn't he set a league record? Good grief.
I don't know if this is true or not, but Brouddas said there was an issue with the long snapper as well. To me there is a decent chance that Maher bounces back again like he has done in the past. If he doesn't he can always be cut like any other kicker. The bottom line is that anybody they get will likely not be as good as Maher was last year. They ae going to have to get real lucky to get a solid kicker.

So, you sign somebody who isn't as good.

The yips for Maher are just temporary but don't count for any other kicker? We don't even know who they will bring in yet but I certainly won't be missing Brett Maher. His time here is done after a choke of monumental proportions. How confident will you be in that same leg come playoff time?

I think that they should bring Maher back to compete, but I suspect that Denver will sign him and the Cowboys will miss out. I think that Dallas mishandled the situation. Hopefully, they get lucky.

I completely agree with you. There’s a lot of ignorance about this situation.
