Switzer could turn out to be a truly great Cowboy and shouldn't be underestimated.
100% of luckys snaps + 100% of Dunbars + 20% of Beasleys
That's a solid role for a rookie 4th rounder
Beasley commands double teams at times, Switzer won't earn that for a while. If he is 80% of what Beasley is, those non double team snaps could prove to be super beneficial and possibly crucial.I wouldn't want to cut #11's
Opportunities that much.
At some point Jason Witten has to start sitting out 3rd downs. I don't know if it will happen, but I think Dez, Williams, Beasley and Switzer have to be out there on 3rd downs. With Zeke in the backfield looking at 5 or 6 in the box.
That lineup would be tough to stop.
The Oompa Loompa set! Can't wait. LoLI am really looking forward to seeing Cole and Ryan on the field at the same time. They will wreak havoc whether they are stacked or on opposite sides. Would love to see Switzer in the backfield a couple times a game as well.
So take out a future hall of famer who's been clutch on 3rd downs for a rookie 4th round pick that you haven't even seen play? Lol glad you're not coaching this team..
You keep saying this like it's going to become relevant if you just repeat it enough. Nobody was talking about QBs or RBs either. That's because nobody expected it to be worth the effort with the players here. Nobody here was wasting their time talking up another Beasley like player because nobody expected them to ever take one.Tons of Switzer fans around now.
Couldn't find one on April 28th of this year.
His role will be as tiny as he is as long as Beasley is the starting slot WR. I don't care what they say. They also said all those 2nd TEs were going to revolutionize the offense.
It has to come at someone's expense. Whose?
The Cowboys were using Dunbar like this back in 2015 (he was leading the team in catches through four weeks) and then he blew out his knee. He came back last year but wasn't quite 100 percent until later on. By then the offense was doing just fine without him and there was no sense in taking Zeke off the field.
Now I think the Cowboys are going to try and prolong Elliott's career; so I can see them lining up Switzer all over the field. He shows excellent vision as a return man, I think it would be awesome to see him get a few jet sweeps and perhaps regular carries out of the backfield. He can be like a combination of Cole Beasley and Darren Sproles.
Uh oh. There is a DMN article referred to in the PFT post! Abort! Abort!
Before Switzer has ever caught a meaningful nfl pass you're suggesting on the money down that we sit the hall of fame for the 4th round rookie.
What is the evidence that we've continuously heard that supports Zeke being great out of the backfield? His 2 catch per game average? You can still leave Elliot in on 3rd downs. Just because his in the game doesn't mean it will shorten his career.
Taking him out on 3rd and short situation is just dumb. He keeps the defense guessing and plus his a good receiver out of the backfield.
Good call on Switzer in the fourth. You keep saying this like it's going to become relevant if you just repeat it enough. Nobody was talking about QBs or RBs either. That's because nobody expected it to be worth the effort with the players here. Nobody here was wasting their time talking up another Beasley like player because nobody expected them to ever take one.
Oh, and btw post #6 from April 13th
