Similar issues with my back...The discouraging part to me was the almost "emergency like" surgery. He was under the knife within days. That is not typical unless there is nerve damage.

My buddy had a similar injury (15mm herniation) and immediate surgery because of nerve issues and some incontinence. He is recovered but says the leg strength and torque for golf isnt there.

But did your buddy have the resources available that Tony has? Do your jobs require that your backs be as close to 100 % as possible? So everyday you spent afterwards focused soley on recovery? And making sure you could be the top performer at your job?
Don't mean this as an attack. But you can't compare any kind of surgery a professional athlete has to everyday joes like ourselves. They have a ton of money invested in them so they'll get the very best care possible. Doesn't mean he'll ever be the same. But I wouldn't say never, just two games in to the season.

I still say they should have taken Johnny Football when they had the chance. I knew Romo would not be the same and they had a potential franchise QB sitting there for the taking.

really ? LMAO over Mariota

you must be joking

in two years you find JF selling insurance

No offense, but Tony's on the field performance proves he is a mortal man just like the rest of us. It doesn't really matter what kind of care you have with this type of injury. You or either lucky or not and it looks like Tony is not. My surgery was done by one of the top surgeons in Houston who has done several athletes but I still have lasting effects from my injury. Back injuries involve the sciatic nerve which is the largest nerve in the body. If there is nerve damage it does not matter how good the quality of care you have.

You may be right about Johnny Football but then you may be wrong, only time will tell.

Jerry was right they should have drafted Manziel. How can you go into a season knowing your starting QB has back problems and not address it. Romo is done.

You are 100% correct that it stats and stops with the QB. We have been lucky to have Tony as a QB. The futile time between Aikman and Romo makes this point. Oh and BTW, the current coach has been an idiot from the beginning.

peyton's neck will never be right either. you gotta give a guy a bit to get in shape. sheesh. anthony spencer everyone gives a pass "It'll take 8-10 games to get back in playing shape"...but tony gets less than 2 games??? Give it time.

Yeah, causing waiting around half the season won't out the team in a bad spot or two along the way.

Jerry was the only person in the room who thought that, and his reason had little to do with Romo's back and lot to do with being "relevant".

If Romo's back continues to give him problems it may be the first time Jerry would have been right!! I am not saying JF will be all that but I have a gut feeling he may just be, of course that gut feeling may be the pizza and beer I just had for dinner! :star:

there is ZERO guarantee that a QB you take anywhere in the draft will be the franchise qb the team needs. Andrew Luck might be an exception but there are no Andrew Lucks in next draft that I know of. thinking that a kid will come in and play better than Romo is very sketchy. Defense needs to be a priority in early draft and Romo needs to just drive the bus. he can do that if he has to.

And this board scream,ed about Luck and not selling out to go get a QB.

Mariota is suggested to be that tatted nitwit for the 9ers with accuracy and faster.

If this year were to tank, I'd be for taking a look at this young man. It has to happen sometime.

Posters on here are scared to death about what's behind door number two. I don't know where the fear comes from.

You're really confused by that?

Romo is a product of Bill Parcells. He's not here anymore. It's up to the two idiots, Jerry and Stephen, to find the next one. The same guys who brought you that scary conveyor belt of QBs prior to Romo.

The GM we have today is the guy who was on the phone bragging in league circles that he may have, not one, but two franchise QBs in Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson.

Any informed, logical fan of this team should be very scared of what life after Romo will be like. I mean, the team is garbage now, but at least Romo gives you a puncher's chance most weeks.

Well up until now we haven't needed to look behind door #2. I will add they should have started looking behind the 2nd door the second Romo's season ended with the injury he had last year. We are screwed without Romo this year and everything else is a crap shoot. I pray the time gap between Romo and his successor is a lot shorter than the time gap between Aikman and Romo.
