News: PFT: Dak Prescott has 2025 cap number of nearly $90 million

No matter how this plays out, unless Dak has an.MVP season and takes the team to the SB it just goes to show how pathetically inept the Cowboys ownership truly is
It all rests on the quality of the offensive line.

This is literally what JJ meant by “all in”. They pushed all their chips in believing Dak will win a SB.

This is why there are several dummy years built into the contract to allow for a quick restructure.

They most likely will. But if they don’t, his time is ticking in Dallas.
If they want to have any flexibility at all they almost have to kick the can down the road for he and CeeDee

The click should be ticking regardless because of his health but this isn’t a year to be looking for a replacement even the first rounders aren’t looking to be much

Cam Ward is probably the best of the bunch and I’m not certain he’s a franchise guy .

QBs don’t take teams to the SBs solid rosters do. Prime Joe Montana wouldn’t take this dumpster fire to SB which does make your last sentence spot on

Dak had and mvp type season 2 years ago and we were woefully inefficient on the defensive side of the ball and had zilch for run game and only 1 receiver that got any separation

They played it right all the way up till opening day then they did the 2nd dumbest thing this franchise has ever done under the old senile piece of ****

If you believe in your QB then you push the money into the future and you sign guys to help him. You actually do go "all in" and try to win now. If you do not believe in him the you cut him if he has no value or trade him if he does. You move on. What you never do is play it out with a QB eating up 90 million that is still on the team. It is pointless.

IMHO we love our little Dakky boy and we will push the money into the future. Unfortunately he just isn't that good anymore and we will spend all the cap space on magic beans as usual.

When is the last time you told your boss he is paying you to much?
When is the last time you took a reading comprehension class?
Half kidding of course but the comment has nothing to do with Dak asking for that ridiculous salary. Every player tries to get as much as they can. Even the ones like Dak who say it isn't about the money, because as we all know it's always about the money. I'll break it down for you. This is based on the premise that the team does not restructure Dak as the poster I replied to brought up as a talking point. Note: No one is saying he won't be restructured just so that is clear, it's just the scenario that was brought up. So...Would the team not restructuring Dak, which would obviously would mean they are regretting that contract and looking to get out of it or they wouldn't carry a $90M cap hit, be more of an indictment on:
Jerry for giving him that asinine contract in the first place
Dak for his level of play and or injury issues that have caused the team to already regret the contract less than 6 months into it

You can choose whichever you want...or neither...but now you hopefully understand

Didn’t Denver have almost 90 million in dead money last season with the release of Russell?
85m$, but they made him a June 1st designate. This means they took 53 in 2024 and 32 in 2025. That’s what you’d have to do with Dak

Yeah I think 2027 at best is where the team could get a top qb. I don’t expect much from Dak in the coming years.

Obviously they're awful at cap management, but the league needs to not have the QB's count against the cap.
