Dak Prescott: I trust my agent, Cowboys to get an extension done when it’s time

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said in February that the team has “a plan to ultimately extend” Prescott’s contract.

Prescott was asked Wednesday about an extension after recent deals for Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts, among other quarterbacks. Prescott’s $40 million annual average is tied for eighth among quarterbacks.

I don't care. But at least remove the no trade clause and write it so they can get out of the contract easier in 2 years.
Because he will be here that long regardless of anyones wishes.
That an interesting thought but really wonder if teams would trade foe him on a bloated contract if he's not playing up to it anyways?

Eagles did it with Wentz. But then again Jerry is not Howie. Nor will Jerry admit to mistakes. Too big of an ... I need to do it my way ego ...

However that would have never happened if not for Reich being the HC at Indy.

I'm in the camp of no extension...play this year and then make a decision...not ready to move on just yet but not ready to sign up for another 4 years
Understand this totally BUT if he gets us to NFCCG and/or SB will cost more than getting it done now. Remember the way the NFC is now diluted of elite QBs, it won't be as hard. I'm guessing $48/49M now vs $50M+ ( NFCCG+)

Something is cooking on the extensions of Dak and CeeDee. Both have been talking to the media lately. Dak has all the leverage. The Cowboys need his cap space for future negotiations. I bet France wants him to play out this season so he can ask for 55 million.

Agreed, it's a risk vs reward scenario and unfortunately I am leaning towards him not stepping up and the contract extension not being merited....just worried wete going to be mired in this situation if something doesn't change

Hope im wrong

Let's be honest, beating the Eagles to win the division will not be easy, meaning our road through the playoffs would be a wildcard team. Who knows what happens then.......but one thing is for sure, he's at a crossroad

I've been wrong 1000 times on here so what's one more, but I'm very skeptical that a Dak extension gets done this offseason. After the restructure I'm not sure I see the motivation from the Cowboys side unless Dak is giving a pretty team friendly deal. They have cap relief for this year, and a pretty reasonable out on the contract after this season. I would take a wait and see approach with how Dak plays this year with a new OC and what looks like a better surrounding cast. Last time it was a do or die year for Dak he came out and was on pace to smash records before his injury, I wouldn't hate seeing that Dak again.

Yeah for sure but things can change in an instant and inevitably do...who knows, maybe mazi unlocks something with this defense that propels us to another level and the offense follows suit.

This team should be able to beat any team but only time will tell

How much you are willing to pay after the season?
Trust me...wait....it's well worth it, to see how this season plays out. Because chances are that it's gonna end in miserable fashion, and Dak and his agent will know that they aren't holding any trump cards. We know how this scary movie is gonna end, so why be on the hook for several more years of it....just wait!!!!!!!!!!

After the turd he just laid against SF in last years divisional round and leading the NFL in INTs despite missing 5 games...............he should not be talking about extensions.
