I think it's really about Legal vs NFL Authority. That's what most of it seems like it comes down to. I mean, I don't think there is any question that if this were a decision based on rule of law, Elliott would not be guilty. Unfortunately, it's about what the NFL has authority to do and I think the two are very different. That's what it seems like to me.
Everyone is talking past everyone trying to be correct but the fact is nothing was resolved by this ruling

It is just another step in the process........ and all they said in a 2-1 ruling was that they filed too early...... they didn't speak at all to the merits like Mazzant did

We are still in the early 2nd quarter imo

And therein lies the problem. Not guilty in the public system, but guilty due to the unilateral power to say so by the commissioner....

Someone wasn't thinking when they gave up that much in negotiations.

The number who are criminally charged and it sticks is small, so taking an approach we will let you have unilateral decision making if not criminally charged and found guilty is a travesty for an innocent person

I think you'd be hard pressed to find an employer that is restricted to the standard of the criminal law system.

OK, its over 24 hours later. Has the next legal move been made yet? Did the NFL file to confirm their action with the court? What is the NFLPA doing? When are they going to refile for an injunction?

The NFLPA filed for a rehearing with the entire CA5 and asked for clarification that the injunction still stands while on appeal

The NFL also asked the NY judge to move things along since the Texas case was over......ignoring the appeal

what does this mean exactly?

I would guess that since the NFLPA has 14 full days to file an appeal that the ruling isn't in effect until the 14 days or up....... if they do file the injunction it should still be in play for the whole appeal and if they don't appeal then the injunction wouldn't be lifted for 14 days at the earliest

So, he might not be suspended?

Just read that CA5 issued a mandate saying the suspension is technically in effect right now

The NFLPA needs to convince the CA5 on appeal or NY District Court to rule against the mandate while the proceedings continue or Zeke will start missing games 10/23 against SF

Things are moving quickly so this will probably change again by morning

If the initial 6 match ban had been accepted at the start of the year, Zeke would be on the verge of returning and Dallas would probably be 2-3. Just accept the damn ban already

I think you would be really hard pressed to find employers that punish employees without even an arrest being made.

Most employers I have had, their policy is only that you face punishment if you are convicted of any crimes.

How would you feel if your wife or girlfriend made false accusations about you abusing them, and then you got suspended or fired for work for them without so much as an arrest?

I don't think it would be difficult at all. If your employers really have such policies, I would say you have had an incredibly unlikely work history.

Your last question is irrelevant. I didn't say anything about liking anything.
