A day after Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant lashed out at a reporter in the locker room, coach Jason Garrett acknowledged that he had to give Bryant and the rest of the team a talking-to about conducting themselves like professionals. “It’s a great teaching opportunity for us as coaches and a great learning opportunity for Dez…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2362122&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

With all due respect to Garrett he hasn't had to put up with the media the way Dez has. It's one thing to be criticized for your play on the field, but to have people constantly ripping your character and portraying you as this bad guy, a thug, a diva, etc. that's completely different to me.

This would have been a great opportunity for Jason to stop clapping and maybe throw a chair at a table and whoops some butt at a meeting. Oh well, I am sure the teachable moment worked great...

See Dez get mad at the media
See Dez go off on the media
See HC pull Dez back to talk to him and tell him not to go off on the media like that.

Moral of the story...Don't be a Dez.

I chuckled..

Maybe if JG would control the media like Belicheck or Carroll, Dez wouldn't be put in that position. Jason's way of doing things has led to One winning season in his entire time with the Cowboys. His players are being put in positions they don't need to be in, because he hasn't taken control of the way the media handles the team.

And flat out making up lies about a tape "worse than Ray Rice" that not only didn't exist, but the police report from said incident (which I've read) proves there wasn't even an"incident". Dez came to Walmart and picked up his girl. That was it. You're absolutely right. They said Dez was throwing a fit on the sidelines, then the audio came out. They said Dez told locket te "that's what you get", when several seahawks players said that never happened. Now, the media is acting like Dez is out of control, and they've never vilified him. Smh.
And Garrett even fielding questions about it just further adds fuel to the fire. He SHOULD have said the incident has been handled, and he isn't going to answer any more questions about it.

Yeah, I like Garrett....BUT, this is becoming spineless. I understand not making a big deal out of it. Sometime it's perfectly fine to Belichik some reporters and straight up fire back with a "why are we talking about this?" He's giving this way too much attention and energy.

Yeah and the thing is you have people here who are killing the guy. I would absolutely LOVE to see how they would react if people are constantly, constantly ripping you and your character. It makes Dez human to react the way he did. At some point you have to get tired of it. Anyone would. It's just endless. The supposed video you mentioned, supposably being a distraction on the sideline, being accused of being a dirty player and cheering for injury, when police were called to his residence people were saying oh Dez is in trouble once again when in fact he hasn't in almost four years now. What I love about Dez is he never made any excuses about his upbringing and how that was cause for some of his immaturity early on. He just got better at it. I don't blame him. I'd get tired of it too. Anybody would.

Garrett needs to explain to Dez that Mike Florio absolutely is out to get him. As are others.

Dez has to quit taking the bait.

Exactly. He's needed to do that several times in his career. Dez's monkey? I would have just given that reporter a "you're dumb" look, and moved on.

Dez didn't just go off on the media. He also went off on Rich Dalrymple in front of the media. But I guess we can add Garrett to the anti-Dez conspiracy now. Just go win a game for the love of God.

Note, it's not getting reported that Garrett said Dez was wrong. Or that JJT didn't deserve it. He said he didn't handle it the right way. It created a distraction for teh team, so it's pretty easy to understand why Jason would feel that way, and from his perspective, he's right.

Dez needs to learn how to clap the right way.

Someone make a racial slur. Just clap clap.
Someone makes fun of your family member. Just clap clap.
Someone makes fun of your pet. Just clap clap
