This year the media is on a witch hunt in Dallas. It is embarrassing how much they're trying to pile on.

Dez did handle it the wrong way but wow, I sure get why he's sick of it.

I would not call it a witch hunt when a players esplodes this way. Dez was all but begging for more drama and the media reported it.

The sooner Dez learns to shut his big mouth...the better off he will be. My biggest fear was this guy getting paid...and then becoming uncontrollable....and that is exactly what is happening. Act like a professional.

So, he should just sit back while the media makes up lies and vilifies him? It's one thing if he doesn't like them saying he needs to show up on the field, but to flat out demonize him (which has been done several time now) is irresponsible.

I'm at the the point where the season just needs to end. Media attacking Cowboys supposedly, players going off on coaches and players, even the fans are being attacked for actually rooting for a player on the team.

You're still rooting for a player on the Cowboys?

Unacceptable.

Maybe he should sit back and realize the team 2-6 and fighting for it's life and the last thing this team needs right now is more distractions related to the problems individuals (Dez, Hardy, etc) have with the media right now.

If they lose to Tampa this thing is over... Allowing JG to focus on coaching and game-planning and not constantly having the police the locker room, deal with heat from the media, and having to constantly have to perform life coaching in private with Dez and Hardy is important this week.

In other-words, this week is not the week for Dez it make it all about Dez.

Maybe if JG would control the media like Belicheck or Carroll, Dez wouldn't be put in that position. Jason's way of doing things has led to One winning season in his entire time with the Cowboys. His players are being put in positions they don't need to be in, because he hasn't taken control of the way the media handles m.the tea

I'd prefer to see the team handling the media rather than the media handling the team.

It's over. Give Jason a participation trophy and ribbons to the players and for the rest of the season play the youngest to see what they have to contribute.
As to Romo and Sean Lee: to play them would be a exercise in futilisade. The only thing that can happen is for Romo or get hurt again, Lee to half another concussionate and for us to win enough games to get us out of the draft lottery (or top 5 picks).

All bad options but there it is.

Apparently, it's too much to ask grown men to keep their heads, maintain focus, and block out the noise however annoying it may be.

I think it's worth noting that Garrett did actually take a shot at the media, but did so in a very subtle way when he mentioned the world we live in and then brought up Walter Cronkite. Walter Cronkite was known as one of the most trusted news reporters, who would deliver the story as honestly as he could. When giving his opinion he would make that known as well. People respected his reporting for it's accuracy. Now that might have been lost on half of the people in that room and many who did not listen, but he was making a point for anyone who wanted to actually pay attention.

Here are some relevant Cronkite Quotes:

“I am dumbfounded that there hasn’t been a crackdown with the libel and slander laws on some of these would-be writers and reporters on the Internet.”

“Objective journalism and an opinion column are about as similar as the Bible and a Playboy magazine.”

“In seeking truth you have to get both sides of a story.”

“Our job is only to hold up the mirror – to tell and show the public what has happened.”

Yeah JG is right to distance himself from Dez's behavior. Dez usually acts like a spoiled brat when he doesn't get his way and it will never change.
