In other words, Jerry saw enough of Lance in the pre-season. :omg:

"Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy regrets not giving Trey Lance some reps late in Monday night’s 34-10 loss to the Texans. But owner Jerry Jones has no desire to see Lance start a game for the Cowboys.

“I don’t know about that,” Jones said of Lance potentially starting. “I want to give our team the very best chance it can — in all phases — to be successful. So, we’re going to go here with the quarterback that gives us the best chance to win the game.”

And he'll still resign him. Both guys are FAs so it really makes no sense, but it's really refreshing to see Jerry making these decisions.

This sounds more like a Coach Jones edict.

Big Mike ought to start him anyway. Literally force Jerry to fire you mid game and take over coaching the team himself. He isn't getting another job in the NFL after this so might as well extend a middle finger to the most deserving of a middle finger.

As bad as the offensive line is, I would think Lance's mobility could make a difference.

Rush's accuracy is has terrible and he is checking the ball down way too quickly.

Even Jerry knows Lance sucks but he continues to spin it was a good trade.
How can he spin it as a good trade if his pet project can't even dislodge a 2 million a year backup?

Jerry knows that with Lance's mobility ( his only asset), he may wreck this tank and actually beat the Panthers or Giant....no, Jerry sees the path to getting the highest pick, lol

This is the problem with this team. The owner or GM should NOT be telling the media who's going to start, play, sit, etc. That is your coaches responsibility. I don't know why any self respecting coach would want to work for Jerry. He undermines his coach. The coach should also be able to pick his own staff.
