There you have it. What an idiot. And what a wasted trade. Well most said that anyway. But now it is official.

More proof Jerry needs to step down.
I actually think it’s smart.
Lance playing, and especially showing any flashes of competency, only hurts us. The current team is too bad for any QB to win games, so why start him?

We cannot trade him. If he shows any ability and enters free agency, we don’t want to bid for his services against other desperate teams. If he is garbage and they all know it, playing him is just stupid. If they still think he can be developed, then you don’t show him at all. He becomes a free agent, and you hope you can sign him to a modest backup contract to replace Rush Because no one else in the league wants to give him 5-10 million when they’ve never seen anything positive in him.

We aren’t going to make the playoffs. We probably only have 1-2 games left that we are capable of winning even if all goes perfectly, not with this defense and no playmakers on offense. His best chance of winning a game with no playmakers besides Lamb is by running, not passing, and all we get for that, if it happens, is a worse draft slot.

There is literally nothing that can help us by playing him. It could help him this offseason, but it can’t help us.

You literally can not make this stuff up. Every time there is a right answer or path, Jerry takes the opposite. I have never seen such a smart person make so may bad decisions.

He would rather do it his way then be successful. I think Jerry would find it more distasteful to bring in a GM and have them be widely successful (multiple super bowls) then doing it his way and being a sub 500 ball club.

Ego more important them success.

In other words, Jerry saw enough of Lance in the pre-season. :omg:

"Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy regrets not giving Trey Lance some reps late in Monday night’s 34-10 loss to the Texans. But owner Jerry Jones has no desire to see Lance start a game for the Cowboys.

“I don’t know about that,” Jones said of Lance potentially starting. “I want to give our team the very best chance it can — in all phases — to be successful. So, we’re going to go here with the quarterback that gives us the best chance to win the game.”

Looks like a perfect storm. Rush gives them a chance to lose each and every game and he will get killed in the next few games. Drafting in the top 3 is in play. They have a shot.

How can he spin it as a good trade if his pet project can't even dislodge a 2 million a year backup?

Jerry knows that with Lance's mobility ( his only asset), he may wreck this tank and actually beat the Panthers or Giant....no, Jerry sees the path to getting the highest pick, lol
Jerry has never been able to admit when he’s screwed up. He’ll continue to say it was a good trade and praise Lance until he’s released. He’s been with the team over a year and played almost the entire preseason and still couldn’t beat out Rush. Lance had four career starts when he got here but they keep using the excuse he hasn’t had enough reps.

Begs the question, you dumb turd.

Why did you throw away a 4th round pick on him? You were hoping you might parlay that 4th rounder into a 7th round comp pick?

This guy has no freaking clue what he is doing.

Even Jerry knows Lance sucks but he continues to spin it was a good trade.
Makes sense…and if you think about it Jerry does the same with Dak; he knows he is not a franchise QB, but spins it like he does to justify the huge contracts.

Even Jerry knows Lance is terrible and he made a mistake. He won't admit it but if he wanted Lance to play, he would have forced it on the coaches by now. Just a waste of a 4th rounder...Lance won't be back as Will Grier will probably end up being the backup

This makes no sense at all. You spend a 4th rounder or waste a 4th rounder. And you don't use him to see if he can play??? Just another sign that Jerry's brain has cobwebs now versus grey matter.

Whether Lance plays or not shouldn't be Jerry's call. If Jerry puts Lance on the roster, it should be up to the coaching staff who plays.

Cooper Rush makes Dak look semi-competent. This is all about Jerry trying to justify the Dak extension.

Truth is it won’t matter who starts.

we don’t have a running game.
